yeahhh it's snowing!

I love snow, and it hardly ever snows here, so it's really cool when it does. Anyone else have snow in oregon?

It hardly ever snows in Oregon??? What does it do when it gets cold then, I thought most all northern states got snow. Does the ocean cause it not to snow so much? I live in Mississippi. Now WE never get snow. It either snows up in tip top Mississippi or on the beach, strangely enough, but never in between. I live an hour from the beach..never quite makes it down or up here.

It depends...the mountains and eastern Oregon get quite a bit of snow. Portland gets snow a couple of times in the winter. Usually the snow levels don't go low enough to reach the valley floors (1500 ft.). And if it does snow here in the southern valleys, it only lasts a couple of hours or so, then melts, but we have been so cold lately, it just stuck this time.

Yes, I do. I am just outside of Medford and it has been snowing here for about 30 minutes. I hope it continues. I was also really surprised, our forcast was for a slight chance of rain...nothing about snow.
