Know Anyone who has Tried out for American Idol?

YES! One of my really good friends, and phenomenal singers, Robert Barron, did! He has been compared to Clay Aiken, and ACTUALLY, Clay invited him on stage at a concert in Sioux Falls, SD, to sing one of his (Clay's) songs live!

Oh my gosh yes *laugH* But that is because I spend a lot of time around people who perform and sing for a living. I know several people who perform at shows locally have tried out. One of them, Marcus Butts (yes, that is his real name *laugh*) even made it onto TV a couple of years ago. He was only shown twice. He actually was the only contestant I know of who has taken a gimmick with him into his audition and has been shown on TV and been a good singer. He actually wore an Elvis outfit on TV that he had worn in one of the local shows around here, to his audition for Idol. And he got on TV wearing it. But they cut him out in the next rounds. But he is a really good singer! ^_^ He really could have made it further.

I don't know of anyone around here that will be on the show this year. Last year there was a young lady from New Orleans, LA that was on the show. She did pretty good...at least made the first few cuts.

I don't even know anyone that COULD try out! Well they could, but they wouldn't make it :) But on a similar note my sister's friend worked for The Bachelor - Bob (the comic one) back when he was gonna be on The Bachelorette. That's about as close as I've come to knowing someone on tv. It's funny that there can be so many people on these reality shows and so few of them connect back to someone I know!

My cousin emailed me last year and wanted me to vote for that guy from Arkansas. He is a friend of theirs. I think his name was Partick, something.......so I did, but he lost out anyway.

I have never met anyone that has tried out but I want to try out one year. I was going to go this year but I got to scared and nobody wanted to come with me. I think I would have made it to hollywood. I'm not like these crazy people that embarase themselves on tv.

My friend Gina tried out and came close to making it on American Idol. She has a great voice, and has taken first place in every karaoke contest that she has entered that I know of. I know, because I always come in just behind her at either second or third. We were all hoping she would make it, but were all very happy for her that she came as close as she did. Even though she won't be on the show we all know how close she came. Who knows, maybe if she tries it again she might just do it.
