Where did you meet the love of your life?

For me, I met him 7 1/2 years ago at work. I didn't notice him the first day since I was so overwhelmed, but the next day my supervisor said good night to him and his buddy as they were leaving and I looked up and felt an immediate connection. It was like being socked in the gut! But I didn't let it go any further than that, because I was married (I didn't know what was going on with him for quite a while). We became friends, chatted, went to the lunch truck later. My marriage was already nearly done at this point (the ex wouldn't give up!), but still I remained true (there seemed to be another woman in his life and I respected it). We began to flirt (we're BIG flirts), just joking around. We took both of our children to the Franklin Institute and I got car sick. We talked while the kids checked out stuff. That evening my husband announced he was moving out. Two weeks later E said he wanted to get to know me better, but he was going to wait until the husband was out of the picture. I fell in love with him 7 months later and while we've had some bumps and some mountains to climb, but it's 3+ years and it's still going on (even after I lost that job!).

I met him at my job, he was a customer. I was working at a cellphone store and he came in to buy a phone. Ofcourse the phone had just came out that day and he was asking me alot of questions I did not know. I was upset with him and then he asked me for my number. I hesitated and told him I would call him since I am the one who gave him his number I already knew it. We started as friends and then fell in love. We have been together so far for 3 years.

What initially attracted you to him (obviously he was smitten with you!) enough to phone him? And did you ever answer the questions about the phone?

I was coming home from a college visit with my best friend, in 2001, and we stopped by a friend of mine from another high school. Jake, my husband (now), was sitting in this other friend's basement (his best friend, actually). He was working on his computer for him. So we were talking, a little, and then Jake got my email address from his friend, and contacted me, and we hit it off. His best friend and my best friend, who were both there the day we met, were the best man and maid of honor at our wedding.

Did you know Jake's friend first from HS? How long did it take for you to know he was 'the one'? Congratulations!

That's a beautiful story! It sounds as if you plan to be with him forever and not the 'forever til I find someone better' line a lot of couples dish out now. I'm so happy for you! Was the initial attraction because of your shared interests, or was something else there that caused the two of you to want to speak to one another?

I met Jake's friend from high school, via an ex-boyfriend, actually, which is another long and quirky story.
Um, we were best friends for a long time. We became close really quickly, had so many similar passions and interests (like the guitar, photography, music, poetry), that we just latched onto one another. I met his family not long after I met him. I've always been welcome at their home and have spent weeks on end at his mom's house.
He has always done super romantic and sweet surprises, even before we were dating.
And in 2002, in the summer, we both realized the chemistry, but it was so weird, we were BEST FRIENDS. UGH! You know? So I told him NEVER to play games with me, and not to even kiss me unless he knew it was for the right reasons, and the real thing.
So we dated in 2002, but I didn't get my first kiss from him until 2003. In October, actually. A day or so after he told me he could see himself being with me forever. He gave me my first kiss, and I KNEW we'd be married some day. Though, I was so taken aback that all I said was "hi!"
Oh the memories.
SO I don't know an exact moment, but it feels like I've always known!
We married on August 8, 2006. We've been together, though, almost 5 years.

Have you ever considered looking for her and telling her what you told us, that you're sorry for the boy you were and want her to see the man you are and that you'd like to try again? Perhaps she'll be willing to listen. Good luck!

How did you meet? What attracted you to one another? I know three other couples who connected online--two through Yahoo personals (happily married) and the third through a gaming community.

We don't know why we are attracted, I know only that from the first time we had a chat we are in love. The first times we spent a lot of time on the internet chatting toghether, and after two months we met. And the story started. And the story continue:)

When I first met the love of my life I didn't even like him! I went with a friend into the city. We met up at Garden Island Navy Base because there was an aircraft carrier in & we were going to check out the americans in town and tour the carrier (of course) Well my friend & I lined up for 2 hours...by the time we got to the end of the line the carrier was closed to the public because they had filled their quota of 2000 visitors...so we walked along the dock to the escort ship and did a tour on it as we were leaving we walked past an australian ship and a sailor (my hubby) called out to us and said "Hey girls, want to tour a real ship" Being cheeky we said sure. He ran down the gangway and gave us a tour which ended in the galley...by which time there were a dozen or so sailors crowded around us. My friend was a bit shy as was my hubby's friend. So he asked me if I wanted to go to a ball that night & to bring my g/f. I agreed for the both of us...I wanted to party and I could see that my friend liked the other sailor. So, we went to the party. Our mutual friends became an item but because they were shy we always seemed to be dragged along on double dates. I think we were in lust that one night....but we didn't really have a whole lot in common. Six months after we met my sailor husband of 15yrs proposed. I slapped him, said it wouldn't work (as did everyone we knew) and thought long and hard about it before giving him a "yes" two or three days after proposal. We have 3 beautiful children together and we are still in lust & very much in love. And they all said we'd never make it!

That's a beautiful story--is the g/f that you toured the ship with the same one you'd double with? An interesting comfination--cheeky yet shy! Thanks for sharing and proving everyone wrong!

Yes...It was the same g/f I double dated with...I was the cheeky one & she was shy. They didn't last very long though! And hubby and I are still going strong!

I met my boo at the store. He approached me and I wasn't really interested in talking to him but he insisted that I take down his phone number. I didn't call... but a mutual friend of ours introduced us one day (about 3 weeks later) and he started a conversation that held my interest. He asked me out to dinner, I went and we've been inseperable ever since.

I met mine in High School. He wrote me a little note with his telephone number inside for me to call if I wanted to. So I did and things went good. We continued to be highschool sweethearts all through the rest of it. Now we are married with 2 beautiful little girls :)

I met my fiance in a yahoo chatroom when we were both 15 years old. He was from Oklahoma, and I from Connecticut. Quite a large distance! I can't believe it's already been six years since we met each other! We went from talking online, to writing letters, to talking on the phone, and then finally meeting in person. It was another year until we were living in the same state. Now we live together and are starting to create a life together. Amazing how time flies, and how love finds its way across the distance.

Love, life and happiness are heaven's secret. I used to live miles away from the woman who gave me son and make me happy until now. I had never known her before until make sister in law invited her to my brother's wedding. She came and we met and i know that she was the one.
