I am lazy sometimes, and I think if I had some quick exercise that produced great results, I'd do them. I try things like doing a large number of jumping jacks everyday, but I need more than that. What kind of quick exercises do you swear buy that really keep you in shape without hours of work? We just got an exercise ball and I have no idea how to use it, so suggestions regarding that would be great. Thanks in advance for tips and tricks!

Try putting on a song that really makes you want to move. You can do a series of anything to the beat...like do 30 crunches, then switch to push ups, then get up and do forward lunges, etc. I like to do a variety of karate kicks to a 5 minute song. That really works, but it is exhausting. As for the ball, I think they have videos available with various exercises for it.

Thanks for the link, and the suggestion! It is true, when some music is on, or I'm watching something on TV with lively music, I do feel way more motivated. Like the other night I was watching Dancing with the Stars and got motivated watching them fly around and the music was mostly really lively.

No help to you here. I have a treadmill that doesn't get enough use, much less anything else. My husband and I have been looking at a Blowflex, or something similar, but we haven't decided yet. I prefer to strength train and I can't do that with just a treadmill. :)

I really like bicycle riding. I use my bicycle instead of the car to make trips to the store. This works really well for me as to staying in shape. As an added bonus, I save gas.
An inexpensive weight lifting set and manual tread mill are nice, too. I have them but use them only a little.

I used to love bike riding. I don't have a bike anymore but I should get one! My problem with treadmills is that I get bored easily. Even if I try to say "I'm going to watch this movie while I walk for an hour", I still get bored! If only they would build the internet into my treadmill so I could mylot and walk at the same time. Thanks for the tip :)

There really is no way to get quick results from exercise. Unfortunately, it is something you have to stick with for awhile in order to get results. I like to walk, bike ride and swim. Those to me are the most enjoyable forms of exercise. I think if you find something you actually like to do, it helps you to keep up your routine.

I love to swim! but we no longer have a pool! But I've found a gym nearby that has one so I may join that in the future. Don't want to join now b/c I don't have time to make it worth the money yet. Ironic I want to get in better shape for my wedding, but don't have much time to exercise until after the wedding! Luckily, I just have a teeny bit to work off.

I make sure to do something everyday. I keep free weights by my bed and just do a little something to feel like I did something. Work at home tapes are the best. Setting your alarm earlier and far away, and turning on the light the minute you don't want to workout that will get you going. I like workout at home tapes easier on you and no excuses. Like the weather or the time.

I just can't turn on the lights in the morning! I get dressed and ready by the light of my tv. Then once I've washed up, I turn on the lights to do my hair and makeup. I know it's weird, but I don't like to be shocked away and turning on the lights does that! However, I find that I can exercise to the light of my TV :) Actually feel more energy that way since I'm not shocking myself awake.
The tapes do work, just haven't gone back to them lately. We have On Demand and they have free On Demand 20-30 minute workouts. You just reminded me I gotta do those! It is easier to workout when you know that it's only 20 mins, and someone is telling you what to do. I'll try one tonight :)

I personally like my fitness flyer machine. It is similar to the air gliders or gazelles that are out there. Spending a half hour on there burns over 300 calories according to the device on it. I think that is very good in a short period of time. My ablounge machine has done a great job for me on my stomach and waistline area.

Walking lunges, squats, and, since you're a hot vegas chick like me, try pole dancing! Its really fun. Oh, also, lately I've been squeezing my butt while walking; I read an article about it. Just squeeze the back butt cheek with each step; its becoming a habit for me now. It doesn't feel normal at first, but after you try it a few times, you get used to it.

The best exercise is some gentle walking every day. It doesn't stress any of your joints or muscles, but it does exercise your body and raise your heartbeat. I think it's the safest exercise around, and because it's easy, the one you are most likely to stick to.

You just reminded me! I used to years ago just walk up the stairs, than run down, over and over. I should get into that again! I can tire myself out quickly doing that :) I'm gonna do that now!
I do kind of speed walk - in that I always walk fast! I park my car and get in the building in a minute :) I think that's due to lack of patience more than wanting exercise. Thanks for your tips! The stairs at the gym were awesome too, I just gotta remind myself to do that.

I would have to say that my stationay bike is the most "rewarding" exercie that I do. When I put the time into it, it shaves off the pounds, and really works up the energy since you can do it while watching television or something else as a distraction to just how long you were working out. I like it a lot, and it really gets those legs working!

We used to have a stationary bike but gave it to my aunt. I never could exercise with it b/c growing up it was at my grandmas and it became a toy we played with. So even when she gave it to us, and I grew up, I never felt like seriously riding it b/c I always want to play on it :) I gotta get a real bike though! I do enjoy bikes. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think consistency is most important, but as for my favorite exercise that doesn't take hours, I would say dancing. It doesn't feel like exercise either.

I jog on a rebounder (mini trampoline) and have found it to be great! I jog 30 minutes a day most days. Also the exercise balls are pretty good. They are best for training your abs, so I think the best thing to do is by a DVD with some exercises on it or maybe check online for some moves.

the ab lounger works wonders but if you cant afford that, just normal everyday walking can do the trick!
