Sea Monkey's (aka. brine shrimp)

I always wanted sea monkeys but never had any as a kid. My kids have never had them either. Are they fun to watch???

I had them as a child, but my son is into bigger creepier thing - Triops. (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/science/75ab/) I tried to get him to grow the brine shrimp, but he didn't want too because that is one of the foods our fish eat.

I loved these they were great we killed them off in the end, but they were so much fun. But, yeah basically all they are is brine shrimp. Sea monkeys are wonderful to watch as they grow and hatch you can also feed them to your fish if you have any fish. Basically the kit you buy with the sea monkeys should tell you all you need to know, but you musn't over feed them and you need to leave them a few weeks before feeding them. I agree they are kind of creepy though.

never heard of "brine shrimp" lol, and no we never had sea monkeys

i had Sea Monkeys! lol i also remember being disappointed that they didnt really swim around in clothes and wave to me!! last year i was gift hunting and found a site that was selling all kinds of sea monkey tanks...weirdest one was a "wrist tank"!! poor little sea monkeys getting shaked all over the place!

It's funny, when I was little I had always wanted Sea Monkeys, they sounded so cool. LOL I never knew they were actually brine shrimp, until my husband told me about 2 weeks ago after I bought an instant sea monkey tank for my kids. Oh how I was disappointed LOL that sea monkeys weren't something cool after all, but something my parents had feed to our fish when I was a little girl! LOL So after all these years I found out I had indeed had sea monkeys as a kid after all! LOL
