A data entry job

I've just put in my resume for a local data entry position which requires no experience, they will train the new hire. I have a lot of experience with computers and word programs like Microsoft Word but I was wondering if anyone else did this sort of work. The job description was easy to understand but I'd like some more background info if anyone has any to give.

You will probably be required to take a typing test where speed and accuracy will be a major determiner in who gets hired. I did this job for a summer in college. It paid well but bored me to tears. You have to have a high tolerance to boredom. They compete you in speed against the other data entry operators so there's not much time for goofing off.

I do a fair job of typing but tests make me nervous so it wouldn't be my best time I can be sure. I can't but try. As for boredom, I worked assembly in a catheter plant and there was plenty of monotony there. I wouldn't be going somewhere else but a medical condition has made me unable to do that kind of work now so I need something different. Thanks for the advice.
