its not so much an ego probelem but it is how we are seen when showing emotions
we hear women say alot they would like to see us show our feelings/cry
but alot of times when we do they joke/laugh /say oh what a wimp ..

Hi swasti, when things go wrong, when any bad situation occurs family goes into deep cry,but if both family members(Husband & wife ) not control their emotion then who will support their family ,their childrens.that is why men never cry to support her wife, childrens, but let you know if In family Men is not their then same situation women handles. I have better experienced of it.

no there are condition when men break down, they hold on their emotion only to support who are standing on his support, if a man also has no support or no person who loves him than i think he will surely break down, in my life i broke down once only when i got to know my dad is in ICU due to heart attack, as in my family i dint have anybody to support me , he is fine now at that stage doctor said he may not leave that touches heart, that too when nobody is supporting you dont understand for that situation what to do and what to decide.

oh how sweet. my hubby is very very strong hearted.i dont know if he ever felt like crying for something in his life. if at all he feels depressed he will look mood out-. i have cried several times to him, but his reaction will be very very less. probably he feels i cry for everything and so probably feels there is nothing to soothe me.

Hello Swasti,
I feel there was a time when crying in public in India was not cool but i feel if you watch closely your will find that today's metrosexual man, who has feminine side to him is not afrid ot release pent up emotions inside by crying in front of others. And i feel that is good as guys are also humans and need to express there emotions. Though it is diferent mater that some old fashioned guys think it is not macho to cry in front of girls. but if you are movie buff you will have seen a new trend of heroes in bollywood movies who cry openly. Even in serials it happens too.
i am really amazed and can't believe that you haven't see a man cry. Then if such a man exists i doubt if he is human enough. i think it is very healthy and good to express your feeling and be youself and show if your happy or sad.
I think guys who dont' cry need counselling so they are not mentally repressed.

It does not mean that men do not have any emotions. It means that society has imposed men to hide well their feelings. In ancient times man was expected to go hunting and provide food for the family. Emotions was always associated with women. Sometimes if I have to have a good cry, I prefer to do it on my own with nobody watching or asking me what's happening to me.

Yes, I also curious about it.
I never see that, but I know them must cry because something, but they don't want to be seen by other.
people always require the man have a stong feeling and body and don't need to cry, it make most of man son't dare to cry in front of the others.

Well,Swasti, it is true you dont see many men expressing openly their sorrow. It all goes with their immmediate grownup culture- saying men are strong, they have responsbilities to lead the family from front and they are superior to women all these things from tehir childdhood.I dont beileve that is true. men always are sailant sufferers-they mourn their fate and events and try to build next step even if thy are in grief. women do it openly that is all the difference.

i'm really impressed with men who are not afraid to cry or to express themselves when they are sad. in our society right now, men are seen as strong and can handle anything. i guess some men are not able to express their feelings of pain or sadness since they are afraid that they will be judged by others as weak. they prefer to be alone when they cry or when they have problems.
