Anybody here have a suggestion for a good all in one, or no pins at the very least, cloth diaper? I'm looking to switch my 1 year old over at least part time due to irritation, cost, etc. Thanks.

there are cloth diapers with velcro tabs, but I find them to be overly expensive, and I don't like all-in-ones as they wear out to fast. I have always used flannelette diapers that I make myself and just use plastic pants over them,I do use pins when going out,and I also put paper inserts in the diaper to throw away when soiled.

Interesting, have you ever tried to fasten velcro on them? I have a strong aversion to the pins as I tend to be very clumsy with them. Also, how do you get the diaper to stay when its not pinned? Thanks!

No actually,I have not tried to sew on velcro yet,but might give it a try. as for going without anything to hold them together,I guess I just let them bunch up a bit under the plastic pants,(basically only at home where I can watch closely.)but I very seldum do not use pins.but I understand your reluctance to with poor nerves.ouch.

I use Poppolini nappies. They have poppers and are shaped like disposables. I have also used FuzziBuns(with poppers) and Nature Babies which have velcro. I can't find a website for them but I'll have another look. I have found all of those kind of nappies really good. I think they are sold internationally.

Well, I found a site for the Nature Babies but that seems to only be for England. You can find second hand nappies on ebay for not very much. I sold some on there and only got £8 for them (about $16) they would normally be around £6-£12 each. (about $12-$24). I hope you find what you're looking for. I would highly recommend Poppolinis all in one, if you can get them.

I hated pins because i was always poking myself and I was always afraidd of poking the babies or what if they came unfastened and witha one year old you's have that to worry about because they are moving around more and they can also try to unfasten it themselves. I would suggest cloth diapers that you can sew elastic on. No i'm not crazy we did this and it worked well. We folded the cloth diapers like they are suposed to go and then make a mark a little over farther and then sew on elastic that is aleast one inch wide because it is the better elastic and with holds with more movement I know its alot more work but after you sew on all the elastic and tack everything so when you wash it stays the same it is just as easy as pulling on a pullup. I wish i had a picture of it because it would probably make it better for you to understand. Well I hope this works for you.

just take a piece of rectangular cloth and fold it like a handkerchief then take one fold from either side and pull it out to make a diaper. then on the wnds stich a plastic by marking it and folding from the top. It makes a nice diaper you cna even use velcro to make it like that. see this info in detail to stitch a diaper yourself: http://www.ottobredesign.com/en/print/pdf/vaippa_en.pdf

i'm not sure if there are cloth diapers that don't need pins. but i recommend gerber prefold diapers. that's what i use with my newborn. it's thick and easy to use. they also have the ez cover so that you wont have to put pins on the diaper.

Try here. www.diaperswappers.com/forum/index.php They sell used and brand new. You can get some real cheap diapers with snaps or velcro on them. There are other forums too that you can find cheap cloth diapers and discuss them. Let me know if you want to know about any other forums.

I would check out diaperdecisions dot com for some ratings and other sites you can get them from. I have over 60 AIO from different WAHM's. I cant say one is better than another over all. Some work on one boy and not the other. Trial and Error.

there are cloth diapers that don't need pins and are actually already prefolded i used them with my oldest daughter because she was getting a rash from store bought diapers, but unfortunatly that was eight years ago so i don't remember where you can get them the hospitals might know tho
