One cannot survive without the other. Both are eqaully pitched. For every new hardware that is created its corresponding resource hungry software hits the stores but not vice versa since there is no point making a resource hungry software if its corresponding hardware has not been built. There is no point to create an operating system or an application software if it requires a minimum configuration of Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM and a 8800 NVidia PCI-e card. No one will buy it. Hence, hardware has an edge over software since without the requisite hardware, the software cannot be created as it will not get any buyers even if hits the stands.

they "co-exist" with each other, without one the other would be useless, atleast in computer or personal/desktop computers.

you can't compare software to hardware because they are far different things, software and hardware both has its own values.

There's not really one "greater" than the other. Hardware is pointless without software, and software is pointless without hardware.

I think Hardware is depended on software and Software is depended on hardware with out hardware, theire is no existence of software similarly, Hardware is also depended on software in terms of system software with out it a device can't work properly so, i think we can't compare or differ or look differently at the sofware and hardware both are mutually depended on themselves
