As we all know, nowadays we can find thousand brands of cosmetics are now available at stores. We can divide those products the cheaps, and the expensive ones. Some people choose to buy the cheaps while others may choose the expensive or branded ones only. As for me, I dont buy the cheap ones for lipstick, moisturizer, and powder because I am afraid they will harm my skin. But I do buy cheap shower cream. It's a real phenomenon here in my country where imported shower cream with better formulas are cheaper than the local ones. Kinda funny, I know. That's why I go for them. So, how about you? Do you buy cheap cosmetics?

I used to buy Lancome during my younger days. Nowadays, I hardly put on cosmetics unless to attend wedding or some official function. Seriously, a lot of my frens said,I look better without makeup- younger to be precise. Recently, I saw this facial cream and bought one. I saw the adverts on TV. It not expensive at all, cost less than $5.. but then after using them for 3 times, my skin become tout. I stop using them now, scared maybe its not suitable for my babyface skin..ehhehh

So far, the only cosmetic that ive ever bought was ELF and they are fairly cheap in the US and even in the Philippines. I use the local products like Ponds for my face and Pantene for my hair. I dont want the very expensive ones though since i think not all cheap ones meant they are really cheap. WHile not all expensive brands meant they are really good. but of course, it all depends on what type your skin is more suitable with. The only thing i dont take any risk with and in turn spend so much money on is when i have my hair done (colored and permed). I rather not take a risk with cheap ones for that!:)

its always good to buy only the branded cosmetics which are proven in terms of quality, i jsut cant trust the cheap ones and strictly buy only the good company ones. you never know what those cheap cosmetics might contain and how dnagerous or unhealthy they can be.

Absolutely correct! You dont want to take any chance letting them damage your skin. There are creams that contain mercury which leads to skin cancer. That's a big NO NO.

Honestly, I buy probably one thing of foundation and one thing of powder a year. That's how much I wear make up. I don't buy the cheap kind. I buy covergirl mainly.

I buy cheap cosmetics because the local brands here in our country have managed to come up with their own products that cater best to Asian skin. However, before purchasing cheap cosmetics, I ask other people's feedbacks.

I agree, it's good to get feedback or reference from people before choosing which product to buy.

Cheap but old, and it has to be effective. So many other things to use money for! And for a person who tires easy, cheap is ideal. I like FMax, they're about $2 a pop, Elf cosmetics is .99cents in the US. But my Ponds Age Miracle Cream is 599pesos... 12$.

It's about personal choice, actually. If the cosmetics are suitable for your skin, maybe there's no prob to buy the cheap ones

i don't use many cosmetics. Might be only face cleaner to clean my face after whole day in activity. Usually I use PONDS Face Foam Cleaner:)

I buy cheap mascara and eye liner, but I buy the expensive foundation and lipsticks. I buy cheap shower gel but I like to buy expensive hair shampoo and conditioner. I find it is impossible to get a nice shine using the cheaper brands and I like to take care of my hair.

Amen to that! Cheap shampoo will only cause your hair to be dry, and leave your scalp oily. It gives nothing but another hair dilemma

well i used to buy cheap consmetics mainly perfumes during my college days when could not afford the branded ones...but now i guess i dont resort to such desperation as i can afford to buy branded stuff and also i am become more conscious about the ill effects of cheap products.

it just depends on what it is. i buy cheap eye shadow because eye shadow is all the same as far as quality goes. i buy the cover girl and almay for foundation and mascara. cheap mascara is really clumpy and the foundation doesn't cover as well either. i have bought the NYC powder and blush and i find it pretty good. lipstick i wear mary kay or basic lip gloss. i use clean and clear facial moisturizer and i use mary kay shower gels and lotion.

Good discussion! I think your right about buying some things cheap & some expensive. I think base make-up is so important that I only use designer stuff. Whereas if its just a fun coloured eyeshadow or lipstick i'll buy a really cheap, unbranded one. In skincare i'll only buy branded ones but I don't spend too much money, as long as its got quiete simple ingredients so I know it won't harm my skin then I don't mind!

It depends on the product. For make-up such as foundation and mascara i'll pay a bit more but if its for something like an eyeshadow where the quality doesn't paticulary matter i'll go cheaper. I use quiete cheap skincare too but this is because I only like to use really simple formulas on my skin.

i think it's not reasonable to divide cosmetics with price measure. as for me, i don't go for brand, but i look for the right one, may be not dear, not famous, but is fit me.

it depends. You cant just buy anything and put in your face. But i can buy a cheap make up as long as my skin does not get any bad reactions. Otherwise. I will stop using it
