I am thawing a ham from the freeze we are going to have ham, potatoes, gravy and vegetable. I will probable make scalloped ham and potatoes one night from the left over ham too. No ham and beans at my house hubby and oldest daughter won't touch a bean. Any other ideas that are great to use left over ham?

corn chowder is great! I always make mine in a cream soup recipe, adding corn, and chopped up ham, and a touch of cayenne, with green onions! Fabulous

You could make a ham casserole if you'd like.. I know that I have done this in the past & it's very tasty but also a very different dish all at the same time.. You could include ingredients such as potatoes, carrots, onion, cheese, bread crumbs, etc.. I know that they have some really delicious recipes online that you could find if you'd be wanting to make a casserole.. I know that since it is still winter time down here.. I will make soups out of ham because I find there is always left overs afterwards.. And they are also very healthy & easy to make.. Also soups are very filling to! What you could do is.. Make like a ham & potato soup if that's what you guys like around there.. You could put some diced potatoes in the soup, also the ham, celery, shopped onion, salt & pepper, etc.. I've made potato & ham soup before & it's quite delicious as well! I know that my other half always has to go back for seconds.. Even though he may be full he just absolutely loves the soup! . . So that's an idea I thought I'd throw out there for you. Sometimes when I have ham left over I will make a ham & egg tart.. I find them to be little appetizers that everyone seems to enjoy.. Or you could even make a pie out of the ham you have left over.. So that you have a lot bigger dish instead of just having an appetizer.. I know that when I make these tarts I will put things such as: Cheese, or onion in it along with the egg & ham.. Those are rather tasty to! The only thing I can suggest after that would have to be an egg sandwich, along with the ham.. Those are rather yummy to have.. And they are also very convenient to make.. They don't take all long to cook up & I know that I love a sandwich every now & then instead of having to make a big meal each & every day.. I hope that my idea's have helped you in some way or another.. I wish you all the best.. And you've just given me a good idea to pick up some ham when I go grocery shopping this week or on the weekends. Thank you.. And thanks for allowing me to share. xx

I made scalloped potatoes and ham, also bean soup with ham, with my leftover Christmas ham. It was so good, I still have some of the soup frozen.

At my house after a ham dinner its...ham salad, nice and chunky or a pasta salad with ham. Another good one is grilled ham & cheese on texas toast. If there is only a little left, I do homemade mac & cheese with ham. :) Ham mixed with ground turkey and shredded cheddar cheese make great burgers too!

How about hot ham with melted cheese on homemade wheat bread with homemade potato soup. It is so cold here that I have soup on the brain.

oh that sounds really good. I do like hot ham and cheese and I love soups and stews especially this time of year. In the last two weeks we have had homemade chicken noodle soup, zuppa, and beef stew. We keep passing around the colds too sooooooooo the soup tastes really good on the sour throat.

I like left over ham in a grilled cheese sandwitch with sliced ham. Also cut up and mixed with pasta with peanut sause. You can also cut it up and mix it with some scrabbled eggs.

hi there i got a recipe for you hope you like it Asian-Style Ham Noodle Salad—what to Do With Ham Leftovers Do you have pounds of leftover ham in your refrigerator that you don't know what to do with? Do you find you can't face another plate of, well, sliced ham? Here is an easy and fabulous trick to serve your loved ones leftover ham that has almost no hint of its former origin. You will win praise and admiration, and secretly know you were smart to use up rather than toss out. Also, if you love Asian restaurant ginger-soy salad dressing, you will find this great recipe below. 16 min 10 min prep Change to: servings US Metric 1 (12 ounce) package chow mein noodles (they look like spaghetti noodles) 2 cups cooked ham, julienned 1 cup pineapples, julienned (optional) 1 cup vegetables (julienned carrots, cooked haricot vert green beans, mushrooms, asparagus cut in 1-inch pieces, etc.) 3 cups salad greens asian restaurant ginger-soy salad dressing 1 tablespoon ginger juice, from fresh ginger 2 tablespoons soy sauce 3 tablespoons rice vinegar 1/3 cup salad oil 1 tablespoon sesame seeds Cook a 12 oz. package of chow mein noodles (they look like spaghetti noodles), as directed, rinse in cold water to stop them from growing, drain and then set aside. Julienne about half a pound (a couple of cups worth) of ham--long, thin slices work well with the chow mein. Add in veggies. Make sure if you are using crunchy veggies to cook first if necessary (green beans). If you have pineapple on hand, julienne it, and add to the ham. Toss ham-veggie mixture with Asian Restaurant Ginger-Soy salad dressing (recipe below), along with the noodles, and serve over a bed of fresh greens, such as spinach, romaine, endive, etc. Asian Restaurant Ginger-Soy Salad Dressing—Grate enough fresh ginger root (a couple of tablespoons) to squeeze out 1 tablespoon of ginger juice. To the ginger juice add 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 3 tablespoons rice vinegar, and 1/3 cup of salad oil. If you have sesame seeds, toss in a tablespoon (especially love the toasted kind, called irigoma). Remember how to make this dressing--it is to-die-for delicious with so many other salads, and is ridiculously easy to make.
