Have you had your wisdom teeth out or do you still have them?
If you had them taken out, how old were you?
I'm 27 and mine are visable now (not all the way through) and my top left one is really out and bothering me some. I know I'll probably have to go in and get them taken out, I think, but I am not really looking forward to this nor do I want to spend the extra money to do so.

I had my top one taken out when I was 16 years old just before Thanksgiving and the bottom ones taken out the same year just before Christmas.
Which sucked because I missed being able to have both meals that year. When you have them taken out, you have to eat soft food for the first few days.
But my partner still has his widsom teeth. And he is almost 8 years older than I.
The last time he went to the dentist, the dentist was amazed that he still had his and they were not effecting the other teeth.
I guess that means my partner has a big mouth. hahahahahaha

That is sooo sad! I have never know that!!!!
I would hate that to happen to me...I love the holidays because you get to stuff your face with food and sweets. What would be the point of the holidays if you were not able to eat the food!! :D

I still have all of my wisdom teeth. My dentist has been wanting to pull them out since I started getting them. I told him no way since they are growing in strait. Now the bottom left is starting to come in impacted and it hurts. I also have really big black spots on my wisdom teeth. I don't get cavities on any other teeth... so it's weird to me. I have no insurance so I will be calling to find out the price (with anesthesia because I cannot be awake for this. It won't work out good for anyone) so that I can start saving up to have them all yanked.

Everyone in my family has had theirs pulled out. It is customary that when you hit the age of 19, your wisdom teeth have to be pulled out. It is best to have it done then, so that this way you do not have to go through life worrying about them.

I just got mine out this year - I'm 27. They weren't impacting my teeth or anything but they were coming in bad. I had huge cavities in all of my wisdom teeth (my other teeth are fine). I had all four removed at once and I got put to sleep for the procedure. I was sitting in the chair one minute starting the gas and the iv and the next I was waking up and going home. The pain wasn't that bad. My surgeon was really good. He gave me all my meds up front... great instructions and he put stuff in the IV to keep the swelling down.

I am fortunate in that mine all grew in alright. My husband has had some issues with his though, and will probably end up needing them out at some point.

My dentist said the younger you get them out the easier the procedure. He said 20 is the ideal age. I don't know how he came up with that age. He said 26 is going to be harder than 20 (I'm 26)... so you may want to get them out sooner than later.

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 23. All four of my teeth were taken out at once. They had to break them all up to get them out. And for some crazy reason it never really hurt. When the pain pill that they gave me at the doctors office wore off I never had to take another one. But it seems like everyone else that I have talked to told me that they had a lot of pain.
I say if it isn't bothering you to bad to go ahead and keep them. That makes you special!

my first one was when I was 19. I had to get it taken out because my mouth didn't have enough room for it to grow. It hurt bad before I went to go have it cut out.I had my last wisdom tooth took out last year my top right one I am 34 now so it has been a few years for all of mine to come in. I have never had any other teeth problems untill I had pain with my wisdom teeth.

I'm 34-- and the bottom 2 are just coming in.. It feels odd-- They aren't growing big yet-- just popping through- Sometimes it hurts alot and sometimes they don't bother me at all- My sig. other had both of his bottom ones pulled. OUCH! I have heard that once they start growing they just keep growing unless you get them pulled-
I am going to go have mine looked at the next cleaning- I don't want to go through the pain either-- In my mouth or in my checkbook!

I had my top two wisdom teeth come through when I was 29. Both had to be taken out as there was no room for them and they were pushing on the ones in front.
I don't have any on the bottom row at all. According to the dentist's xrays there aren't any there so it will never happen. Supposedly an hereditary thing.

Two of my wisdom teeth came through when I was about 23. I was in a lot of pain and it turned out one of them was growing into my jaw. I had all of my wisdom teeth taken out in an operation that involved sawing out some of my jaw bone - they felt that there was a chance I'd have more problems with the ones that hadn't started to come thorugh.
I was left with some big holes in my gums that caused me problems for quite a while but now everything's healed up ok.
Mine was done under general anaesthetic so that made it a lot easier.

I had mine taken out when I was 17. All four were removed at once. From what I remember it wasn't painful at all and I Was eating real food the same day. My face did stay swollen for about a week though.

I can not have my wisdom teeth out and I cannot still have them because I do not have them yet.
I am sure that I will get them soon though and I am not all that excited because everyone says that they hurt!
But, I think that I will have room for them and wont have to have them pulled out...hopefully! :D

its such a pain, one of my friends got it done and she was crying seeing her own blood dripping out of the face ,although there was no pain because of the anaesthesia.
my wisdom tooth are also going in funny directions and i have been asked by the dentist to get them removed soon, but i am waiting till they start to bother me.

Be glad they're through the skin! It will be much easier to have them taken out. I was 16, all 4 of mine were impacted. The oral surgeon had to go in and CUT them all out. This was a major pain in the as*! I did not want to miss school, but ended up having to be out for 2 weeks. Mom put all my food in the blender. Pot roast, potatoes, and carrots are amazing blended up, by the way. Anywho, since they're through the gums, it should be a piece of cake!
