These are certainly not questions that anyone in the west, ever asks. Here, we just marry whoever, for whatever reasons, and then deal with the consequences later. Thus the high divorce rate.
Maybe we should ask a few questions before hand, it might help us make better decisions. Love is grand, but, it doesn't pay the rent, and it usually doesn't stand the test of time, unless both partners are willing to work at it, after the bloom goes off the rose.
This is a great question. You might be able to tell, from the number of responses to this discussion, that not many people actually, give it much thought.
