Never Never and Never period. I value the bond of friendship at the highest level and that's why can never betray my friend who's has this faith in me as to reveal his secret.

If the secret didn't involve any one other than your friend, or if it involved something that was completely resolved in the past, than I admire your convictions. But I did say a 'dark secret'...SS

I hate to say this, but I would have to turn him/her in. Loyalty only goes so far, then it becomes an accessory. You know? I was faced with a similar problem not to long ago, not a crime, but something darn close. I was up front and told them I had to do what I had to do because of the position I was in. They understood, but it wasn't easy. Sometimes making the right choices isn't pretty and nice.

You are right about loyalty, it does go but so far. And if a persons reveals something dark to you, they are pulling you
into that situation...SS

this is a hard one to answer. I guess it would depend on the crime he/she comitted. If it was a crime where no human got hurt then I would for sure keep my moth shut, however if it involved kids or murder i don´t know. I would love to say that I would keep it to myself since she/he trusted me wnough to tell. on the other hand he/she might have told because the secret is starting to be a burden for him/her...
I really don´t have an anwer to what i would do... Ans i hope i will never have to go through it!

I think if someone committed a dark crime and got away with it, I would question his reasons for revealing his secret too me. And immediately the red flags would go up, and I would begin to start questioning whether or not I should continue trusting and including this individual in my life...SS

I guess it is important to keep an open mind and once all the
facts are in than follow up with whatever you think is appropriate based on what the offense is...Thanks for the response...SS

I really think that it depends on what the crime was. I mean.. how serious of a crime are we talking? Stealing some money from a place where they worked, like hundreds of dollars? Or something even worse? I think that it would be so hard to turn in a really truly close friend, though :( But if the secret were something truly dark that actually made you feel afraid of the person.. if it were a crime that bad? Then I guess that it would be easier to turn them in. I really hope that that would never happen, though! *laugh*
