My hubby doesn't leave the seat up, because he doesn't lift it in the first place, which infuriates me more! Cause sometimes, he doesn't realize it, but some pee goes on the toilet, and I get so pissed off when i'm about to go, and i gotta wipe off the pee!! Other pet peeves about my spouse...he always leaves his dirty clothes on the floor on his side of the bed, he always leaves his empty cup of coffee on my wooden living room table, he often forgets to take down the garbage, he always falls asleep when we watch a movie, he's very impatient...but i still love him with all my heart!

I do not like the seat OR lid left up.
Here is why...have you ever been sitting on the toilet and have a child come up and flush the toilet on you while you are sitting? (Mind you, the child was very young when this happened to me.) Well, you butt gets wet!
When the toilet is flushed, there are water droplets that go into the air.
And if there are droplets that go into the air from the toilet...what is in that water when it is flushed? Ewwwww!
I don't know if there is pee floating in the air when the toilet is flushed or not.
But at this point, I do not want to test it. So I would much rather put the toilet seat and lid down before flushing! This way I do not have to worry about what is going into the air.
And as for pet peeves with my partner?
I have many. He doesn't really answer a child's question, it is "I don't care." Poor Noah who is only 5 yrs old always responds with, "That means yes!"
My partner also can tune everything out around him when he is on the computer or playing a game. Why do I have to be that one that hears, stops, and addresses an arguement that is going on right beside him???
But hey, let me stop there before I really start to sound mean and disgruntled. LOL

I am a man and I want the seat down.If I need it up I can raise it.I hate it when someone leaves it up and I go to sit down and almost fall in.The seat should stay down until it needs to be up!

I think most men leave the toilet seat up. That doesn't really bother me. I am so used to it, I just automatically put it down when I enter the bathroom. My pet peeve about my spouse is the fact that he is such a slob. He leaves things lying around the house and never puts anything away. I am constantly picking up after him.

When people leave the toilet seat up it drives me mental...Another pet peeve is people that use the bathroom facilities but don't wash their hands....yuck, I always use paper towel to open doors because so many people don't wash their hands. My kids make fun of me all the time because of it,

I actually fell in once at night and I told my boys and husband that if it happened again I would take the toilet seat right offthe toilet and see how they liked it when they had to sit on the toilet...lol cured the laziness

After falling in a few times, haha. I just got used to checking to make sure the seat was down. I never had a big problem with weather the seat was up or down, I figure there are so many other more important things in life to stress about. The toilet seat up o down is minor.

It doesnt bother me, :) It however does bother my wife and my 4 yr old daughter. I try to put the seat down when I am finished but there are times I forget. but that issue is becomming less and less as I have 2 cats that try to get in there and drink the water so we keep the lid closed so that they can not do that.

I used to let things like that bother me. Not any more. Some times if I am having a pms day I still let it, other than that it is like water off a ducks back.:)

I have finally "trained" my boyfriend to be as neurotic as I am about putting the seat down. I got off without sounding like I was nagging by constantly reminding him that the blue clorox cleaner in the tank would be toxic to the cat if he decided to do what cats do and drink from the tank or play in the water. Knowing how much I love my cat, he finally got it right.
