i play poker with friends, however, i am not a good bluffer. haha for this reason i am always out. i tend to have bad card as always and i cannot really bluff my friends. i win once i a while but really i tried eevry strategies and it doesn't work when im playing against friends. i am the type of person who can never be expected of a 'poker face' so really they are the ones who tends to bluff me. but one thing is sure there be a lot of laughs whenever they include me on the game.

Im an avid poker player, i currently play on titan poker playing something they like to call jackpot sit n go's. For the moment i am playing the $2 tables where its 12 people who buy in, it pays top 4 and much more importantly if u win 4 in a row you get a bonus of $2000 which is not bad for $2 buy ins. Im finding i can finish in the top 4 fairly regulary so thats the key for me at the moment. My main advice for playing online is play very very tight. You get a lot of people playing online who shouldnt be and they play too many pots. Occasionally they will hit a hand on the turn or river when a good poker player wouldnt still be in contention. You really need to only play the premium of hands. I hope this is of some help :)

I play texas holdem at http://www.nlop.com and with friends, I dont really know of any strategies except know when to hold em and when to fold em, it's 95% luck, the only other advice I can give is to practice alot. Good Luck

I totally disagree. Poker is a game of skill. Knowing what to do in every situation is absolutley crucial otherwise you will go broke. If you were to play a poker professional in one hand it would be luck but if you were to play him at 1000 hands he would win because he would outplay you. I dont mean to sound harsh but thats just how it is. Does that make sense? You need to know what to do, how much to bet and when to do it all to be successful in poker.

it;s not at all good luck...it's only science...for example if u got pair of aces in hand...that's the best hand in poker...but u can loose easyly with the best hand...u got to bet after your position at the table or the style that other players play...luck is when u win even if u are bad bit...that;s luck and it;s rarely

Yes I play alot of hold em poker. The best thing you can read is Card Player magazine. And remember that if you only decide to check/call you will never win on a consitant basis. The way to win is to bluff. And also I know people keep saying that online poker is the best way to learn that is a lie. Online players bet and call when they have absolutely nothing and its hard to when like that.

Some of my friends alternate between play money and real money tables. If you're feeling crazy and want to play lots of hands, do the play money tables.
When it's time for real money tables, you have to understand that nickel/dime is the same as play money for a lot of people. They play really loose and too often get lucky on the river.
Play for higher stakes and learn to play tighter and you'll have better experiences and possibly win more hands. It's takes time to get good, even a couple years, so be patient and learn. Good luck.

I have played different kinds of poker most of my life but really got into it a few years ago with Texas Holdem. Ihave won a couple of tounaments and money in others. A classic poker Book to read is David Sklansky's "The Theory of Poker", also any of the books or movies from Howard Lederer, and Daniel Negraneu. These are great players but also great teachers. Phil Helmuth has some decent stuff out there but he spends to much time complaining how bad beats in to much of his stuff, which is a fact of poker.

I play poker on the internet. I have tried to play with friends, but it turns out I dont have a very good pokerface, so I keep it to online play.
I mostly play at NL Holdem at Titan or Caker Poker.
Harrington on Holdem are a great book to read.
Also Super System 1 and 2 by Doyle Brunson.
