Is it really true that DVD has its days counted?

With the introduction of HDTV (High Defenition Television), DVD storage capacity shows that it is insufficient to support this type of application. So it is time to pump up the storage capacity of the disc and therefore the Blue Ray Disc was introduced which could hold a whooping 25GB (Gigabytes) for a single layer and 54GB (Gigabytes) for a dual layer disc.
So, would you still stick with the DVD when you have an HDTV?
