Their outdated, i only use DVD their at the same price.
I don't use them anymore because its a big deference from 700MB to 4.3GB.
Sun the DVD are going to be outdated, its just apeared Blueray whit 20GB space.I don't know the price of blueray yet but it cant be that expensive so i will be the next most used writeble materials.
I read in a magazine that a scientist descovered a method to store 5Gb on 1cm3 of paper. He used symbols and a lot of things so i think that is the future of date stoking.

i think there not outdated yet, but soon will be. SOon everything will be like flashdrives and ipods all cable usb connections that transfer all types of media quicker than anything. either that or some kind of small disc like for the nintendo gamecube, although i doubt it.

I dont think so , CD is reliable, even pen drives are very common around the world but CD has not been forgotton, the main thing for its existance is, its the best optimized (data against cost) medium of data storage because floppies are lesser in size, and USB's are expensive to CD is the cheapest data storage medium !

Yes, just like the big floppies back then. Now the smaller floppies are being replaced by flash drives or portable hard disks. CDs and DVDs nowadays almost have the same price so practically the DVDs is the much better choice due to its larger storage capacity. Soon, DVDs will be replaced by blu-ray discs or HD-DVDs. The cycle just continues on. It just keeps getting better and improved.

Not right now, but they will be in the near future it will be.
On a CD you can put date for a maxim of 700MB, but on a DVD you can put 4.7GB and they aren't so expansive.
The CD's will be outdated like the floppy (in time).
