Well, have you still got it? Would you like to wear it again?
I still have mine. I'd give anything to wear it again. So much so that I was thinking of organising a Wedding Dress Ball for charity. People could wear their wedding dresses, or they could just wear a gown. The men would dress in Black Tie.

I'm cheating a little bit by responding to this one...I still have my kilt (you'd be horrified by how many people over here call it a skirt or a dress), and would love to be able to wear it more often to xmas parties and the like, but I'd have to shave off about 2 and a half stone to do it. This is the year though...it's my goal to wear it at my wifes office xmas party this year.

Excellent! Kilts would be allowed at the WEdding Dress Ball as well. Do you think you can make it to Ireland for it?

Er - no, don't think I would look very cute in one, wouldn't fit me anyway, all my wife's good cooking has gone straight to my stomach - a tradition in West of Scotland. My wife still has her's again, may not fit her any more.
Are you suggesting that the men only wear a Black Tie? As for people wearing wedding dresses, I saw Richard Branson wearing one on T.V. thought he looked disgusting.
What charity are you suggesting for the Ball? It's probably too far for me to travel to but I could send a donation.

I still have wedding dress and I am divorced! It is a beautiful dress. Of course I will never wear it again, but I am saving it for my daughter to have when she grows up. I would be honored for her to wear it, but if she would just like it as a keepsake that is fine too.

It's lovely that the dress can be passed down through generations of the family.

I don't have my wedding dress from my first wedding... I kept it for almost 20 years (from the wedding day), even though I didn't know what I'd do with it. Then, I asked my daughters if either of them would wear it or want it and they said no. Their relationship with their father is degenerating quickly and they didn't feel an attachment to it. So, I donated it to the Drama department of their high school, as they said they could find many uses for such a gown. I felt better about not just pitching it in the trash!
My second wedding dress was actually black velvet ... and I do still have that one! BittyBiddy, would I stick out like a sore thumb if I don't have a white dress??? LOL!

I don't think you'd stick out like a sore thumb at all. I'd imagine there would be lots of "bridesmaids" there too who would wear dresses of all different colours. Black velvet sounds amazing.

Thats a really good idea, a charity ball for a good cause where we got to wear our wedding dresses. It doesn't seem to be fashionable at all for people to wear white, unless its white tight trousers (which lets face it, you have to have a body mass index of 18 and be around that age to wear!). I love white and I would still fit into my dress to as I only got married very recently! Let me know about this ball BittyBiddy and I will surely attend.

I would love to go to the ball, but I think even if I still have my wedding dress, I would look rediculous in it at my age. Besides I might just need to add about six inches to the waistline. Let us all know if you are going ahead with the ball, and I might consider buying a nice wedding sort of suit. Would that be acceptable?

Yes, that would be great! It's good to get these ideas from those who don't still have their dresses. I don't think I'd fit into mine at the moment but by the time I'd have a wedding dress ball I might.

Yes, I still have my wedding dress and always will. My mother didn't keep good care of her wedding dress (kept it on a wire hanger in the basement) so when we were younger we play dress up with it. That thing is so tattered an torn. I don't even know what happened to it. I had mine preserved. It's still in the box too. Who knows, maybe one day I'll wear it on one of our anniversaries (if I can still fit into it, that is).

My dress was rented but if I did own it I would have burned it by now. I got married young and had to pay for it all on my own so went to this lady who had this dress that I was kind of talked into renting even though I hated it. Me being very soft and naive didn't have the guts to tell her I hated it as I didn't want to hurt her feelings and the fact that it was 2 sizes too big!!! Well on my wedding day, I felt like a toilet roll doll, the underskirt kept dropping down and I felt a right frump. Next year is my tenth anniversary and I plan on renewing my vows in a dress I love, that makes me feel beautiful.

I didn't get married in a dress. T-shirt & blue jeans.
I still have the T-shirt, lol. We eloped on a road trip to Florida back in '93, lol. I like your idea for a ball tho. You should go through with it, it would be a lot of fun.

Well I don't have my wedding dress per-say but I was the groom so may I say that I still have that same suit from 25 years ago this April.
Now as for my lovely bride yes she has still got her wedding dress and she can still fit in it. I on the other hand just keep my suit in the closet. :)

I still have my wedding dress and would never think of giving it away. A good friend made it for me because we didn't have alot of money to hold our wedding for.
I think the charity ball sounds like a wonderful idea. You will have to post pictures in here from it for those of os that are from other countries.
