I have crabs! ...... Hermit Crabs that is ... anyone else here have any?

I have a 20 Gal tank ... in it I have currently three hermit crabs. I was wondering if anyone else here has any "Hermies" and if so how many and how long they have had them?

I only have four pet Japanese turtles/terrapins ( i named them after the ninja Turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello) and a small lake with carp and goldfish. Are hermit crabs easy to take care of?

Aww ... I love turtle too! I used to have one (red eared slider I think it was) that I found when it was just a baby (about the size of a half dollar (US). Had to leave it with an ex when I moved once though ... Yes , hermit crabs are quite easy to care for , they need a sub-tropical environment (high humidity and heat) but on a daily basis they are very low care. www.hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/index.php http://crabcolony.homestead.com/Care.html these sites have some good basic info if you are interested!

Hermit Crabs - Hermit Crabs gotta love the lil fellas
Just going through some discussions form the past ya know how ya get sometimes where you revisit old topics just to see whats out there or what you missed? lol I have a 30 gallon tank with 12 Hermies. I have a fresh water bowl and a salt water bowl. I've had one of the hermies for over 4 years now his name is Malkie he is the only one in a painted shell. He came out of it once and went into a natural colored shell but then went back to his old shell before I took the time to get it out of there. Oh well what ever makes him happy. Do you still haver you hermies? Have you added to the tank or still only have 3?

shooie, Unfortunately I no longer have mine .. sold them in preparation to move from Texas up into Oklahoma .. LOL However I do have an empty 10gal tank waiting for new ones here ... but .. may be moving again in a couple mths so going to wait til after that. I sold them to a lady who had a few already, but needed a bigger/better tank and setup .. so hope they are doing well. I have currently two cats, a snake, a beta-fish, and two tubs of feeder mice. Along with three children I think thats more then enough right now! ~Rachel
