I have been to Puerto Galera a few times so I'll pick Boracay.. Both have great beach, crowd, food the difference is the price. Both places have low priced to high end accomodations. Transportation expense - Manila to Puerto Galera you'll spend Php1000 for round-trip transportation. - Manila to Boracay you will need a minimum of Php4000 for a round-trip airfare & land transfers.

One can also get to Boracay by the Roll-On Roll-Off route passing by Batangas, Calapan and Roxas in Mindoro for Php 800 one-way but would take 10 hours by bus to reach the Caticlan port.

I would choose Boracay not because it's more beautiful but because I have never been there. I had been to Puerto Galera and it's quite gorgeous. Now I want to see another place so I would have a broader perspective. I would definitely love to ride a jetski in Boracay. So much info have I garnered already about this place and so I think it's time for me to prove it with my own eyes. Mabuhay ang Boracay, mabuhay ang Pilipinas! By the way, have you been to El Nido in Palawan yet? It's the best! :-P

well you should checkout the place.the place is nice though not exactly the same as boracay but definitely there are spots on the island that's really worth visiting.there's a spot there that the natives call mini boracy bec the say that the sand is more like the sand in boracay.visiting this island is worth the travel, money and effort.if you have less budget and wanted to have great beach experience,a puerto galera trip is what i suggest.

i would choose boracay.. a very beautiful scenery and for sure, you will enjoy your vacation there.. you will meet new friends, discover new things, party, and there are lots of things you can do in boracay. and i think boracay is the most famous beach resort in the philippines... but expect a lot of people at the beach..

Of course I would rather choose Puerto Galera because of the clealiness compare to Boracay which is very commercialized already. I went to Puerto Galera when I was 10 years old and it was summer time when I went there. I still remember that we rode the boat and it was kinda scary since it was only made on the wood. I also remember that I've collected the marble stones at the beach and I am not the only one who did that as well as the co teachers of my mother. Good thing about it I never experienced to step on the sea urchin as what happened to others.

Never ever compare Boracay to Galera. It's like comparing COKE to RC Cola. Or Hershey's to Goya. What were you thninking??

bora it is. fares right now can go as low as 1,700 roundtrip. as for puerto u would spend around 1,000 roundtrip. so in transpo expense difference would only be about 700. add the airport terminal fee it would get about 1,000. thats not bad at all considering that bora is a lot better than bora. daily expense would be almost the same bec bora has lots of cheap places to eat at just like PG. lastly accommodations in bora have become affordable. average is 1500-2000 per standard room almost the same as bora. in short u can safely say that expense is no longer hugely different. BEACH/PARTY= bora WATER ACTIVITIES/DIVING/SNORKLING= PG

I pick boracay. I've been to Puerto Galera a few times, like I always say it's the best beach for budget conscious travellers and It hink it's about time to go somewhere else this summer. My family will be going to Boracay on the 3rd week of May.

I've never been to both places yet but basing from my friends and colleagues who have been both there, they say Bora is the best when it comes to the kind of sand quality and everything. The resorts are also good in there and there are plenty of places to visit. The only thing you should consider is that you should bring enough cash and maybe credit limit is big enough for your credit cards. LOL! But budget wise Puerto Galera will do. They say that Galera is as good as Bora if your pocket is not that big enough to afford Boracay. Another suggestion also is Panglao island, Bohol which has somewhat similar to boracay's white sand been there and I saw the sand is quite good.

ive been to both. they have the same alive, wild night life, nice crowd and people. big differences on the fare, puerto fare ranges 800-1000 two way whereas boracay gives off a whopping 3k-5k depending on whther you'll be on a plane or a roro. as for the lodgings, boracay has more nice hotels and accomodations. the beaches itself would really depend on how you would appreciate the two. sand in boracay is more pristine and is whiter than galera. the water for me, tehy are both the same except that there are algaes in boracay which i think would be distracting when you swim. money wise, galera; but if you have the money, then go try bora.

It's still Boracay as the best beach destination in the Philippines for me. Although I have been to Panglao and Puerto Galera, they don't compare as much to the crystal clear waters and fine sands of Boracay. What Puerto Galera boasts of, though, is its super-duper nice snorkelling site where one could enjoy swimming with schools of fish and enjoy the sight of corals. Boracay has become so accessible nowadays because of the direct flights to Caticlan, so expect the influx of tourists from Manila to soar high.

I've been to Puerto Galera twice, so to have a different destination, I would love to see Boracay. I'm pretty sure that it's a wonderful place to be during these summer months.

My top summer spot of all times would be Boracay, as my mother's province is Aklan. Though I haven't yet the time, and the money(of course!LoL).. I know that one of these summer days, I will to go there, along with my special someone, family or friends.

I've been to both beaches last year. Since its summer, I know its going to be very crowded. Given that situation (or should I say any OTHER situation) I definitely prefer Boracay! I must admit though, before I was wondering why people are so enamoured with Bora. Now I know better. Just take a look at my avatar. =)

i've been to puerto galera and bora and they're both beatiful in their own right. Bora is like paradise, with an awesome beach; sand, waters.. galera also has nice beach but not so pristine white like bora, it's waters are not that clear. but beach activities in puerto, i would say they're at par with bora. banana boat, flying fish, etc. they're so much fun! if you're into those activities or just wanna hang around at the beach without spending too much, go to Puerto. But if you have the money, Bora it is. =)
