sometimes. I get annoyed when people use the completely wrong word....but if it's something like "Thikn" it doesn't bother me so much

Hey thanks, i guess it depends on the mood one is in at the time? I know sometimes it bothers me, and other times i can see the humour in it. But there was a suggestion about a spell checker, but i can see that taking too much time. But when someone uses a completely wrong word ussually suggests they prob don't know what there talking about?

yea...sometimes it tells me they're not as smart as they are making it out to be. I know that's harsh, but a 20 yr old should know the difference between "write" and "right". Know what I mean.

spelling errors are a common find in india.see any banner/hoarding or address board, lack of knowledge of proper language leads to mistakes.
on eclassic example is, i was moving on the footpath and noticed a signboard as:any two piss at 50% discount.it should be any two pieces at 50% discount.

Unless it's a really bad one, no. I know that people get in a hurry and don't notice small mistakes, or if you are like me, you keyboard is not working right and you make mistakes leaving out letters because the keys are sticking. The thing that annoys me is grammatical errors. That drives me nuts!

Yes, it annoys me...especially when they're my typos. But, I taught Typos 101 for years and am an expert now.

Spelling errors don't annoy me as much as grammatical errors. We al maek mistkaes dotn' we? With spelling errors, one can still understand the sentence but grammatical errors can frustrate the reader sometimes as to what the heck the writer is trying to say.

Spelling errors that are obviously just typos do not bother me at all. But spelling errors that are obviously made by people who can't spell - these drive me nuts. And not only that, they take away from the force of that person's argument. After all, if you can't spell, why should I listen to you.

No, I don't get annoy by typos. But yes, I get annoyed when typos completly changes the meaning of the statement.

I have more respect for people who are trying to speak/write another language (in this case, english) than those who purposely misuse or misspell words. People who write things like "wow! tht kewl coz it b da ting dats 2-gr8 4 wurds!" It's like some kind of cryptic shorthand. Seriously, I'd feel like a moron. It takes longer to figure out how to read and write this crap than the "novelty" is worth. (It's also annoying when people want to suddendly change the way their name is spelled, just to be "original"-like Jessica to Jessika. But I digress...)

Yes that is a very good point, especially the language being used on cellphones. I think cellphone language should stay on cellphones. But somehow it is bleeding out into everyday language. It becomes common place to spell badly. Lets stop that from happening.

Some grammatical errors annoy me, but we're all guilty of the occassional typo here & there. I can accept the internet is home to many different cultures, speaking a variety of different languages. Quite frankly, the comprehension of the english language that some of the foreign people on the internet have, astonishes me. I makes me feel lazy for not being bilingual.
It's the people whom speak english as their first language, and then show a total disregard for the beauty of it; that's when I feel somewhat ashamed. Afterall, we're setting an example, wherever we may be, whether it's literal, or lingual.

It's nice to hear and see someone who has pride in themselves and there language, whatever it may be, in this case english. Some good points made in this response, i would to choose this a 2nd best response, if there was such a feature? Thanks for sharing.

Sorry but i have to disagree with you, because i think spelling does matter. Okay i may seem like a bit of a sheriff, but if one wants to engage in conversation, which may involve many views, i think it is important to get the spelling right so as not to confuse your point of view. Thanks for your response. What do you think?

YES... the perfectionist in me gets upset with it! I wish they would add a spell check option and also an EDIT option after you've entered something.
