well the discussion i want to start is whether reality shows are staged.........for example in big brother show in U.K. there was a furor over rasicsm ,then the show ratings rose to high levels....then due to the comments on rasicm in the show the countries governemnts got involved and suddenly the statements of racism are retracted, when it was snow balling into a political controversy....
How surprising considering that the inmates of the house are not suppose to have any connection with the outside world...
therefore are these shows for real or are they staged....does anyone know more shows which claim to be reality but actually are staged...

Yes, programs like Big Brother are staged in the sense that first, they select the right people, and second, they then manipulate them to create controvesy.
The recent uproar is Celbrity Big Brother and we all know that with 'celebrities' any publicity is good publicity.
They feed on it!

I believe that most of them are staged. The producers will put the people who have the most issues together and throw things in the shows that make the people fight. They may not script them, but I believe they egg them on by doing certain things like suggesting racism or other types of hot topic issues. Shows due this to get people upset and yelling, and this brings in ratings, which means more money, and that is all the studios really care about.
