I just tried a fettucine alfredo recipe I found online the other day. It actually came out really good, I've had better alfredo and I've had lots worse then this. It's supposed to be like the Olive Garden(US Italian restaurant chain) recipe for fettucine alfredo. I did it twice, once this way, had to add a little extra milk. I also doubled it, it seemed to come out better that way. I just added about 1 1/2 cups milk, 8 oz of parmesan cheese, and both times I used neufchatel cheese instead-a lower fat version of cream cheese. Came out much better the second time. I also cut up some chicken and threw it in as well. Here's the link where I found it, so I don't steal someone's info lol:

Ingredients:
8 ounces Cream cheese -- cut in bits
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese -- grated
1/2 cup Butter or margarine
1/2 cup Milk
8 ounces Fettuccine; cook -- drain
Directions:
In large saucepan combine cream cheese, Parmesan, butter and milk, stirring constantly until smooth. Toss pasta lightly with sauce, coating well. Leftovers freeze well.
