pros:
-having a roommate means late night chats and laughter and lots of girlish giggles
-you can have someone to talk to when you have problems in lovelife, school assignments or family disputes
-someone can lend you money if you are low on cash
-someone can lend you clothes or make up when you go out on a date
-someone can clean the room for you when you get too tired
-basically youll have a new FRIEND!.
cons:
-when you quarrel, you cant stand each other and its hard to stay in the same place
-lucky you if your roommate is kind, neat and responsible. if not then youd find yourself cleaning the mess everyday and slowly building up rage
-you wont have any privacy at all. if you want peace or want to be alone, you cant tell your roommate to go somewhere else.
-sometimes when you have 3 or more roommates, backbiting is probable
-if you sleep with the lights turned on and your roommate cant sleep with the blaring lights then you find yourself in an agreement. which means nights of no sleep and nights of "conscience-bothering" sleep.
-if your not into the same genre of music i dont know what will happen to all of you.
-cant concentrate on studies much
-possible theivery
well thats it.. ive had a roommate before, now taht im alone in one room i find it more pleasant.

One of the main cons is not knowing the other person and later finding out they were not trustworthy or leave with no notice,This can set you back for a LONG time.
Pros include cost-sharing.
