Do you have your own office?

I completely agree with you. I have never had my own office, right now I don't really even have my own computer (I move around a lot and there are now pieces missing). I constantly feel like someone is looking over my shoulder when I am writing and it drives me crazy. I don't write a lot of what I plan on writing because I feel like I don't have enough privacy. Good luck on getting your own office!

I know how you feel about having someone looking over your shoulder all the time. That's how I feel a lot of the time. My mom is around me alot so it's difficult to get privacy at home, which is where I'd like my office of course. But since I'm in college and spend so much time there, and since I really don't have a roommate, my room is sort of like my office. Just a bit more messy :)

I dream of having a library /office. Right now the office is divided between that and a craft room and a storage area. so the computer is in the living room where it is hard to work unintterupted.

I'd love to have an office at home. My house is very small, just four rooms. So I have sort of a combined spare bedroom/storage area/office at the moment. It does the trick, but it is easy to get distracted with other things in here. It isn't quite set up to really force me to focus on my writing or other work.
I do have my own office at work, but don't get much writing done there unless it is job-related!

lol... i just had a major grumble about this exact thing earlier today. No I do not have an office. The computer is in the corner of the living room. Both of my children were home from school this morning because they woke up feeling rotten. I don't think I got anything at all accomplished.

I can understand your sentiment. Writing/working requires complete peace and quiet. Maybe you can convert part of your living room to a mini office? I used to have my study/office in my extra room here in my apartment but this new year, I brought my office stuffs down and now I'm working in a space here in the living room. I converted my 'old' study to a guest room so I can have friends around on weekends. :) Try that option where the living room can share an office area :) Goodluck!

That's a good idea, I never thought about it that way. Thanks for the tip.

I've converted a spare room in the house as an office of sorts. My bookcases, computer, and copier are there. And although a small room like this can be very cozy, it can quickly become very disorganized and messy. For example, I've run out of room for new writing reference books that I'm constantly buying. A few of those books are now in my bedroom and dining room table.

I know that the moment I get my office, it'd be nice and organized and everything would be perfect. But I accumulate so much stuff, it would eventually start to overflow and would become messy quickly. I think I'd have problems with keeping people out of there and stopping them from putting stuff there that doesn't belong there.

Hi, I have my own office but it's not at home and it's far from an oasis as I share it with others.. If I want some private time I go to the bedroom and shut the door, although then I'm only hounded by my cats lol.

I kind of have my own office. My living room has a kind of alcove that serves as my office. With my computer, chair, printer and monitor, I have my own little world. I do get interrupted occasionally, but I like it, and until I have a bigger house, this will have to do.
