Do you lie to the people on the Internet???

I just remember a friend who told me that he lie to the people on net. well, i don't know if it's a white lie or not. it's hard for me to lie. sometimes i think to myself that maybe he's right. maybe it's ok to lie coz it helps to hide your true identity and personal information (just like privacy). but sometimes, i wonder, what if those people i talk to through net will found out that i am such a liar? then there will come a day that they wont believe me anymore? well, it's hard for me to decide whether i will lie or not. what do you think? what about you? do you also lie to the people on the net just like my friend?

yes people do lie net.......but for me to lie is very difficult coz i am caught always wen i hav lied at home,school,high school,classes..etc

I think it defines alot about the person, actually. I don't lie in the real world, so I don't lie on the net. I don't see a point. And it's not about what other people will think about me, it's a matter of what I think of myself. Would I still have self respect knowing I'm dishonest? No ... so I don't.
I've come to discover there are two main types that frequent the net. Those that see it as imaginary ... it's just the net, it's not real. These are the ones that have no problem lying left right and center online, because they don't see any of it as real.
Then you get another group altogether, who are more honest online than off, because they have the convenience of anonymity. They don't have to worry about what those people think of them, so they can relax and be themselves, without all of the walls we put up against people in the real world.
In terms of your private information .. you don't have to lie to conceal it. You just have to not offer that information in the first place. If someone asks me my real name and I don't feel comfortable giving it to them, I say no. The same if someone asks where I live, or my phone number. It's easy to say "I'm not comfortable giving you that information." Then I don't have to lie, and I don't label myself a liar.

Yes I do lie to people on the net but not all the time. It just depends on the situation. When there is no point in telling the truth why to waste a true instance? When it's necessary, I tell all the truths about me. Nothing's a lie untill the other person finds out.

to be very frank i do lie to the people over the net ..sometimes when you wannna chat the other person wont be interested in you if i say i am rich brat and from a fast moving city they start chatting with you ....only in this case i lie and rest of the cases i wont

on very few occasion i told lie,but i never played with any emotion ,i always respect the emotion and feeling of other.

no need to tell the truth, on chatting. tell the truth only when it is necessary. internet is the scamming system

normally people tend to lie for the sake of fun, if it is otherwise one can get caught and no one will believe them again even if they are telling the truth(100%) of it, so its safer to speak and tell the truth, they will only be in good books also will get genuine help, suggestions etc. wwhich will make u more happy than usual

Sometimes. Not everytime but sometimes I do like if anything is forced to be answered something personal then sometime I do lie with my net chatters or even with friends too.

i think if u want to make a lot of good n best friends, you should give them trust by saying or writing the truth about us. b'coz if we lie to our friends, sooner or later it'll open so we have try to be the honest people. For me, even in the net or not i'll always try to be an honest man, coz i don't like if people lie to me.

Sometimes it's okay to lie to a person whom you don't know. Because most of the guys and girl on the net are looking to bother someone or cheat someone. if you give the correct info they might use then to somehow bother you or cheat you. when you become tru friends and get to know each other truly, you can explain and tell that person the truth. taking it in good way is up to that person. It's the only safe way.

Internet is an endless probabilities and possibilities.. that's why you cannot put all your trust to all the people you are dealing with. Like you, your avatar shows a picture of a young girl, so most probably, i would assume that you are a girl! Of course, that is just a 'probability', right? if I would be interested in you, would you believe that I am a guy, hidden under the name cyndhirella? 'of course not!'. But what if I am really a guy!
See, most lie in the internet. If your lying wont harm anybody, then its okay.

Well, yes. I like many time when chatting people i don't know. It is dangerous to reveal real information many times, cause there are bad people out there, that wants to make us trouble and unimaginable things, so we must be aware of it

well its difficult for me also to lie but still some people do lie...making friends with lies is not a good thing..a relationship cannot work out if started with a lie..
as it is said that "to hide one lie you need to say hundred lies"
