"Hold your wee for a Wii" contest case

according to reuters, Jennifer Strange, mother of 3 child in california died because she join that stupid contest which held by KDND radio stations 107.9s sacramento, for a game console nintendo Wii, drink as much water as she can while holding her pee. That's insane, a useless and unnecessary death ... Now who's to blame ?
KDND radio fired 11 of it's worker that held that stupid contest.
I think that such contest shouldn't be held because it's endangered humans life, since not every contestant aware about their own risk while doing that.
what do you think ? does the mother deserved that ? or it's purely the radio station's fault ?
i don't want to die just for nintendo Wii, and i don't think anyone want to die just because of a game console ...
do you have any comments regarding that matter ?

I think that kind of contest is horrible. But The Wii sure is a great prize for me (because i'm a gamers). It is good to know that the radio fired their stupid worker, so that nothing like this can be happened anymore.

still, that great prize doesn't need to endangered others health ... do you think that mother's also guilty for not stopping before she's off the limit ?

Yes of course, she should've known her limit about going on the competition, but why does she still handle it. Very stupid, indeed.

I think both parties hold the responsibility.
It is a stupid contest yeah cause it gets people excited over the price that they are willing to do such stupid stuff. What people are willing to go through just for free stuff.
But then, the people who join should also be smart enough to know the risk that they are getting into in joining such competitions.

the channel fired the people behind the idea , but I dont think its enough . One of the tv peple replied this to a woman who called by phone to warn them what they were doing was dangerous (caller: they could die from too much drinking . tv person: I KNOW , IT'S OK , we made them sign (liability)release papers before the contest )!! this clearly shows the tv people were sick and had no value for human life . I think the family should sue the radio or tv channel anyway (even if she signed papers )
