I have not heard of this, however I do find it somewhat humorous! As to whether the company did something wrong or not?
I would say that depends on several things :
Did he sign something saying he would NOT do so?
Was he told not to do so by a boss?
Was this the first time he got caught doing so?
If he was on duty for Coke, and was drinking a Pepsi, I think that was poor taste but unless one of the above applies I don't see it as a reason to get fired.

yes ... he did signed the contract that he will not take any other soft drink during duty hours
but isn't that a bad decision from COKE ?

i heard about this,an i thought he got fired because he broke a contrack because when he was hire. he signed stateing that he would not drink any other product other than coke.i dont agree with this at all.they should be able to drink whatever they want an they should give him his job back.or pay him a big lump sum of money

Pepsi company has the same policy. If you work for Pepsi, you have to drink pepsi products. If you work for Coke, you have to drink their products. You can't sell a product that you don't use. I believe that while they are on the clock they should abide by these rules. But while they are off the clock they should have the ability to drink whatever they want. But it doesn't work that way. They know what they are getting into when they get the job. They have to sign a contract stating that they won't drink the other products. He broke the contract.
