honestly is the best policy

they say honestly is the best policy but trust is not something can be earn easily . there is one time in my unit ( universtiy accommodation ) hosting a chocolate raising fund and they just put the chocolate on the table and whoever want a chocolate have to put down a buck and help yourself with it. The problem is the next day all the chocolate is gone including all the money. The person in charge has to pay a great deal for it and I personally feel sorry for her and she was a nice person to begin with. ( curse the person that took the chocolate and money). I don't think it is person from out unit but still as I already mention trust is not somehting that can be earned easily.

You are right, it is hard to earn trust, especially when we are constantly subjected to people like this. Hopefully they will find the person who stole the money and an example can be made of them. I feel bad for the person having to pay for it as well but I guess it's a lesson learned. :(

Ya absolutely right, trust is something which is very hard earned , usually we trust only our friends or those whom we know for long, it comes with time, its important to keep the faith of those who trust u, coz it takes years to buid but can be broken by a single incedent, so being honest to all ur friends and also others will keep u in the good books of other. and if u looses the treust on someone tell him about thins, if his was a mistake he will definitely appologise and try to win back ur trust, this will help u from loosing a true friend who did jus 1 mistake.Trust all ppl. but dont trust the evil inside them.(with appologies to the dialogue writer of The italian job.)

That is horrible. It is a shame that a few people have to ruin it for everyone else. But not everyone is like that. I still feel that honestly is best. I feel sorry for that girl though..since it was clearly not her fault. I guess that measures need to be put in place in these situations to ensure that theft doesn't occur..unfortunately that is the age we live in...

That girl suppose to selling the stuff and not putting it in the common area . She put too much trust on us since we live together ( 10 people in unit ). This this will never happen back in the old days , it make you wonder where is all the person moral and virtue goes.

I feel honesty is the best policy. Yes it can be hard because some may like it as they can't bear to hear the truth and so one might have have little support and may have to work harder but the success is much more sweeter and it's more permanent and there is satisfaction that you have your morals intact and that you have a clear conscience whioch i feel is important. And yes trust has to be earned. And it is sad to hear that someone will steal from charity both chocolate and money. I feel bad for the girl that had to pay for someone's else crime. I think they should search and find the person responsible and make that persobn pay for their crimes. Moreover that person will have guilty conscience which is not easy to live with. so that is bad enough. And yes that goes around , does come around. so one must always do good deeds.

I think if you are true to yourself and the people around you then you have a very dignified and admirable trait. Yet, there are people like the one who took the chocolate and money who are not and it's unfortunate. I really believe what comes around goes around and whoever did it will get what they deserve some other time and place. Honesty is a very good attribute to have and shouldn't be overlooked.

i agree with you. trust is really hard to give but very easy to loose. I do consider "honesty is the policy" as a golden rule. to add up to that, I've read this quote from billboards here our place and it says: Be honest, even if others are not. Be honest, even if others cannot. Be Honest, even if will not.

Ya it is a good saying but the it doesnot apply to everybody some people acts like that but in ur case it is true cause u know the best than i know rather so the person need to get something nicely for the thing that he had done to your friend and they have to realize the thing and compensate for her so that they ll get something good or else they might suffer for that cause no body should treat some body who is honesty.

yes you're very right. and what make it worse is that sometimes you close friend or even your friends can do bad things to you. at this point of time, where honesty is not that important... as they say.. learn to be aware and be extra careful everyday of your life. we can hardly say that at this time, new friends are still the good person to keep and give our trust.

it is really very difficult quality to be possessed..no one can be honest all the time.. it is also very important to note that it is all mainly dependent upon self consciousness...always being optimisitic and positive will automatically make u possess the quality to a certain level..this is my view
22 Jan 07
I agree with you but atleast people should be trying be honest all the time and do not throw away the trust that people give.

i defintitely believe honesty is the best policy.but no one can tell the truth all the time.one needs to judge what is right and wrong before they tell the truth or lie about.one can lie as long as it is not going to hurt anyone.but being true to oneself and to your consience is what will take you a long way and make you feel peacefull in life.

Absolutely dude...But there are times when unscrupulous people like the person whom u mentioned(who stole both da money n chocz)get the better of you...If mankind followed all principles methodically then there would be no need for nither the police nor any law controlling force...I am not justifyin da person who stole dem but im just sayin dat thingz like these do happen which makes u generalize incidents like these...Just get on with the world n still be Honest n Trustworthy...I m sure it will be very uselful!

Actually day by day honest people are decreasing and that one incident shows that. There are miliions of incident like that happening all over this world even as I speak. But yeah as long as you stay honest and true to yourself, you can stay honest and true to others.

Honesty is a high ideal that is not possible in practice wiyhin the human condition. It falla in the same category as telling the truth. Children are taught the principle of truth and honesty and then are lied to and deceived by parents, teachers and peers. In fact, in many cases, to hold righteously to honesty as a principle would mean to offend or do harm to others.

Honesty is the best policy. If you want to get success than you will be a honest person. Trust is another matter and honesty is another, if you can get trust from other person but honesty is totally depand in you. I think honest person is more success if he would go for work with honesty.
