metallica vs megadeth...who's better??

Megadeth are my fave band of all time, but seriously, stop asking people to rate which out of these two bands are better. They are both good, they are both different. I'm sick of seeing this all over the internet. You never see Metallica vs Children Of Bodom, or Megadeth vs Nevermore. Why, just because Mustaine and metallica have history together, do both these bands have to be compared all the time.

it is very hard to say for me! They're my favourite bands. I've started with MetallicA and firstly I refused to listen to MegadetH because I though they were the copy of MetallicA. I little by little i discovered MegadetH are different from MetallicA even if they are some parts in their songs similar to MetallicA. If I have to say MetallicA is my favourite band because I grew up with them,but right now I don't listen to them because I listened them very very very very much times in past years. Right now I'm listening more MegadetH. I've seen MetallicA and MegadetH live. I think they're both an amazing show to see. MetallicA have more charm on stage and MegadetH expecially Mustaine have more skills playing. I don't know I'm still asking me which is my favourite one. I love both! I'm waiting for their new albums. Let's hope for MetallicA a better album then the past one. And I can't wait for the new MegadetH one and for the tour. By the way, have you listened some songs from their upcoming album? MegadetH relased a new free song called "gears of war" that is the sound track of the xbox game with the same title. It is a good song as always! in the net i saw their live preview of the new song "washington is next" another great song! Up MetallicA and MegadetH!

Megadeth is my favorite band. Did you know that Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica right before they made it big? Most of their hit songs were composed by Dave. Personally I think it was good that they kicked him out, because otherwise we never would have heard him sing.

They are both great bands and they are both my favorites.So i wouldnt rate who is better than who.both of them have their unique style.and would not be fair on my part to rate them.so the verdict is WE HAVE A TIE. :-)

Megadeth by far....Metallica really went down hill after the black album. IMO

To be honest, I never gave Metallica a chance. Listened to a few songs (Fuel, Enter Sandman, Seek and Destroy, The Four Horsemen, etc), but they didn´t catch my whole attention. I started listening to bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Danzig and then, a friend was listening to Megadeth´s "Mechanix" and i said: " Isn´t that the Metallica´s song?". I reasearched for the Metallica/Megadeth history and i liked Megadeth´s background. Bought the Rust In Peace album and WOW. I loved them since. =). In conclusion, I preffer Megadeth most.

Megadeth is better because even though they disbanded for a while they still remain to their metal roots unlike Metallica who completely change their style of metal music.

i would have to go with megadeth cause over the years metallica has gone soft and megadeth has remained the same along with the fact that i have actually met dave mustane and he is a pretty cool guy

i personally like megadeth better

first they are both great metal bands they play great and they sing loud and fast..but i like the rythm of metallica i like the way they build riffs and stomps

Both bands have lost it by now IMHO. When they were at their best, arguably "Rust in Peace" and "Master of Puppets" they had such different sounds anyway, that I don't think there is any reason to choose who is best. It can't be done objectively anyway. In my opinion, though, Metallica had a run of really good albums with amazing songs, while Megadeth was more uneven. However, I listen to "Rust in Peace" way more than I listen to anything Metallica ever released. If I had to choose career-wise, I'd say Metallica has been the most stable band in terms of maintaining quality (even though that had decreased a lot).

I think metallica but its really complicated they are similar but they are not too ;D seriously dont know but i think metallica fade to black and one u cant get better from that

I love both bands but right now i'm more into Metallica. But both are 2 completley different bands the arguement are stupid they are both amazing bands with classic albums and both are one of the most influential metal band s in history. Dave Mustaine Rules & Metallica Rules End of story. I'm seeing Megadeth at Priest Feast next first date of the tour can't wait to hear their new stuff. Rock on!!!!

i think once you properly start listening to megadeth you know they are much better!!

I would have to say Metallica. I love Metallica, Megadeth is a good band but Metallica will always have their place.

Metallica Rules..

Both of the bands are in the my fav list. How ever to be fairly honest. My vote goes to Metallica. I truely respect the talent of Dave Mustaine. But Metallica has more melody and more heart beating sound in its songs.. Specially when it comes to Live Performance i dont think Megadeth is that good as compared to Metallica.. Megadeth is a one man show where all the members of Metallica are equally talented. They have the best vocalist, best drummer and one of the best guitarist in the world. What more is required to form one of the world most perfect band?

Metallica is better as far as lyrics and song construction, at least up to the black album. Medadeth is better when it comes to the technical prowess of speed metal and thrash. I think their pinnacle is Rust In Peace.

I don't like either of them better. I like them in different ways, but neither better than the other. Just because Metallica has evolved over the years does not mean they are less of a metal band, or a band in general. One could argue they are better because of this, but I wont. Just because Megadeth has stayed the same over the years does not mean they are better. One could argue they are worse because of this, but I wont. I think a lot of the feuding between the fans of these two powerhouses is because of the bands themselves. And I don't think that's right. Can't we all just get along? I like Metallica AND Megadeth. Megadeth offers me things Metallica can't/doesn't, and vice versa.
