I used to never give my dogs table scraps as I was always told that it was not good for them. I had to leave town a couple of years ago and had a friend watch my dog for me. My friend started giving my dog table scraps as that is what she does for her dogs. I did not say anything to her about not giving them to mine, buy anyhow ever since then I find myself giving them to my little guy once in awhile.

I give them to my dogs. They are healthy too. They just get a little annoying sometimes because they beg for food every time we're eating.

No on a regular basis. Every now and then the dogs will be handed a piece of meat that was left over or fell on the floor. ha ha Once, my partner popped his egg yolk and didn't want it and he gave it to the dogs also. But we don't give them anything else that would not be healthy for them. And we do not do it on a regular basis or they would never leave us alone when we eat. My dog KC took such a liking to tuna water being poured on her food when I had tuna a couple days in a row that she actually refused to eat the day I didn't have tuna. LOL She was in for a rude awakening! ha ha But yes, I have been told my my vet to not feed them table food also because it can disturb the balance of the diet the dog food companies set to help keep the dog healthy. And also, if we feed them other things and they take a liking to our food more than their own, they have a higher likelihood of becoming overweight.

How old are your dogs. Right now I have 2 labs (see picture). The yellow one has a heart problem we were told he was not going to live to be a year old. Well he turned 8 in December, we walk 2-4 miles a day and he is doing great. The black one is the Dad, he will be 11 this year. They get carrots and celery, lowfat popcorn, brocolli and tomatoes, oranges and bananas. They get no table scraps,do not come in kitchen unless invited in. They do not beg when we eat, unless we have popcorn or raw veggies. They only come on their own when we have popcorn, if we have raw veggies they have to be called or they will not come for some. Never give dogs onion or grapes and avoid those raw hide chews and cow toes & pigs ears. They are bad for the dogs, as are table scraps. yes. the vet also said that it's not good for them because dogs have different nutritional needs. but i can't help it since they usually stare with begging eyes while you're eating! hehehe and they look soo happy when eating. :D

We do not give our dogs scraps. I think that if you give your dog scraps every now and there it can't be that bad for them, but I think that if you are giving them scraps of food off the table every day it will certianly lead to an over weight dog. But some people love the pudge little dogs.

No I don't give them scraps not because its not healthy but because even dogs have to learn their manners at the table. If you do that, they will start begging for food. I dont allow it not because I am cruel but a dog must learn to know his place in the house. otherwise he will be the master of the house not you.

yes I feed my dog table scraps and I also end up giving her some of my food from my plate also. I've heard it ain't good for them but I have always done it and she expects it. I got McDonald's a few days ago I ate the fries and was full so she ended up with the whole hamburger.

My dogs do not get table scraps. If they get treats it is doggie cookies or rawhide chew. My grandmother never gave her dog dog food. She cooked every night for the dog. He was a bit over weight. Some dogs seem to do fine eating people food other do not.

We give our dog table scraps. We have to chop them up really small because she is old and has few teeth left. She doesn't like anything healthy though, so we try and chop up veggies really small, but she still picks them out and leaves them on the side of the dish!! :-) I've heard it's not good too, but she's very healthy and still running like a puppy!! :-)

well giving them table scraps depending on where you do this. the dog thinks that he is allowed to each with the alpha of the pack. if you have other dogs it might bite them.. it causes stress.. depending on what your feeding them it should be fine.. but it can give them fat they don't need, the stuff we eat might have something they are irratated to.. but mostly it is fine just watch what you give them

never ever ever.... I feed them dog food, or dog treats. I don't want to feed them scraps, because I lose control of how much they eat, and can easily over feed them. I also don't want to teach them that it's OK to eat people food. This causes them to beg, and even take food off plates. Our dogs don't beg, and don't take food off plates. Makes it much easier to have our friends over for a BBQ, when there aren't 4 dogs begging for food, drooling on laps or actually stealing food from plates.
