I am personally a very smiley, fun to be around, outgoing young woman. I have a smile on my face throughout the day and everyday. I feel that being glad for what i have in life is key to this! When i am feeling a little under the weather a simple smile can cheer me up how about you??

Let me tell you my experience. We went to work last February at these plants cleaning them. They were somber people and we are pretty happy people my girlfriend and I. We enjoy what we are doing and being with each other. We were always pleasant to them, saying Hi, waving to them if they were busy on the lines. Well now it have morphed itself into they looking forward to seeing us. Asking where we are if one is not there. They say high and you can see their face change when they see us and say Hello, good morning etc. We have made a positive impact at the plants. We are thankful they have lightened some since it does take more muscles to frown that to smile. So yes a smile can brighten a day.

Yes a smile definitely helps brighten up my day even though I'm really lonely. It's good that you're really friendly I hope I can be more like you, I'm a little on the shy-side.

A smile costs nothing at all, yet gives so much to the one who receives it and often they will pass it on to the next person they see. I smile and say a polite hello to so many people that I don't know personally, but I do understand the need to be happy. I remember once when we were in the city and I smiled at a lady while we were waiting at the lights. She first looked shocked and then said "thank you for making my day." When I asked what she meant she said "You smiles at a stranger which means that you cannot be from the city".
First thought was that it was very sad that people do not smile. I mean, they are alive, they can get around, they are out of the house, they are seeing people, so those reasons alone are enough to smile. Then I realised that many people who live in cities are scared of the unknown dangers, whether real or perceived, so they don't smile as they think it might encourage someone.
Keep on being happy and most of all keep on smiling ronita, because you will end up with less lines on your face from smiling than you will from frowning. :)

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Fake it til you make it"?
I think that smiling does help you feel better. It also helps your general environment because it helps other people feel better too.
I smile a lot naturally too, and I think it's generally a good thing to do. I know that I am a happier person when I'm smiling a lot.

I love dealing with happy, smiley people! Some people have a way of bringing cheer with them wherever they go, no matter what they are feeling or going through. I agree that being greeted by a smile and a few kind words goes a long way towards brightening up someone's day, and it's such a simple thing to do.

It brightens up everyone's day to give a smile. Normally if you look in the other person's eyes and smile the other person will smile back at you. That makes me happy and the other person too.

Whenever I am feeling down or a little upset, my daughter's smile or hug really helps. I also get phone calls a lot from my sister. Just talking to her on the phone can really change my whole mood. I usually am in a good mood, but when I have one of those days I know where to go or who to call to make me feel a little better. Even a good movie can change the whole day for me. I just don't like to stay in a negative mood or a bad mood.

I smile at everyone , even strangers, My hubby can't understand this ( he thinks it's nice though ) he is a very private person , I sometimes think when I smile at someone that I might just have been the only person to smile at them that day or even that week , it costs nothing and I love when someone smiles at me its nice , At church one Sunday I was told that someone asked where the lady was who was always smiling , I felt so good about that xxxx

It costs nothing to create much
It enriches those who receive without impoverishing those who give
It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes last for ever
It cannot be begged, borrowed or stolen, but is of no earthly good to anyone until it’s given away
So if in your hurry you run across someone too weary to smile, leave one of yours
No one needs a smile as much as the one who has none to give
Smiles are such an important part of communication
We see them far more clearly than any other expression.
We can pick up a smile at 300 feet, the length of a football field.

I'm exactly like you Ronita.
But when I'm felling sad or under the weather like you sad a smile from a close friend of mine changes me and I take her every time that she does that for me, and I try to make her smile every time because she has such a beautiful smile.

Yes little things like a simple smile mean a lot, it can brighten up my day. Here in asia, people smile a lot. That's one trait we are well known of. People just love to smile at any body even complete strangers. Smile can change the mood of the day.

Absolutely! This is a great topic. I find that sometimes if I'm feeling a little low, all it takes is a smile from a stranger, or even a loved one, and I'm feeling back on top.
