I assume that since this is under "collecting books" you were referring to what books, or authors, we collect?
I have a huge collection of books. The most prominent, and the ones I went looking for specifically, are the Earth's Children series by Jean M Auel, the Harry Potter series, and anything by James Patterson or Dean Koontz.
I used to collect the Trixie Belden books, but it has been quite awhile since I've read one of those! They are still floating around the house somewhere. Really gotta investigate what's in a few of the boxes I have stored, lol!

Yes I want to know what books & other things mylot people collect. I'm still waiting for the bookstore to sell the whole Harry Potter books 1-6 for a promo/package price, they always do that whenever a new book comes out. I also collect rocks, whenever I go to the beach I bring home with me a few rocks and I also buy gemstones if I have spare money for those. Thanks for replying!

i also love reading books but they are in my language called urdu. I love travelling stories which seems very intresting to me. I also read books on other topics like novels. I haven't read book on Harry Potter. I sure will buy it. I also buy books one or two each month besides that I read the whole newspaper daily. I used to collect stamps but as my life is getting busy and busy I have no time for my old hobby now.

I collect old coins from 1920 until up. I collect old stamps - I have 1000 plus stamps that I collect. I collect fairy tale books before but I already sold them to an elementary school. I also collect different kinds of figurines especially dog or puppy figurines. It's really fun to collect.

I used to collect coins & stamps when I was a child but I got tired with them so I sold them all. My 2 year old son likes hotwheels toy cars and he has about 20 of them. Wow I wish I have all Harry Potter books, I'm waiting for the bookstore in the mall to sell the 1-6 books as a packaged price because it'll be much cheaper. Thanks.

I collect books and horse statues. I did have some Wizard of Oz Barbie dolls that I was collecting but I needed the money so I had to sell those on ebay. I collect books that I want to read and I only keep the ones that I really love and that I know that I will re-read again. I had to do that because I was getting over-run with books and there was no place for me in the house because there were so many books. I have been getting rid of books now for a couple of years and I still have boxes to go through and get rid of! Now the horse statues. I was collecting any horse statue or figurine that I could find [and that I could afford to buy] even the ugly ones. Now, I have so many of them that they won't fit on my two big five-shelf shelves so I have to weed through those and get rid of the ugly ones and the ones that I have more than one of. It's very hard to do. I like horses a lot so, it's hard saying who has to go and who gets to stay. Plus, still needed the money so I sold some of my horse statues on ebay too. I will probably sell some more of them too. But it's a bad thing when your collections take over your life!

Wow. I wonder when you started collecting books & horse statues. I agree with what you said that it is a bad thing when your collections take over your life. Some people would rather skip a meal just to buy something they want to collect, now that is very unhealthy.

Oh that is so sad, maybe you can still continue one of the three collections you mentioned.
As for me, I'm now collection gemstones, they are a bit pricey but worth the price anyways. I already have an Aquamarine which is my birthstone and a clear quartz, I have yet to make up my mind on what to buy next.

I collect DVDs - movies, concerts and TV shows. I started with VCDs and "upgraded" a bit. I also have a very humble collection of books. I collect an eclectic mix, because I usually buy from budget bookstores. The popular and expensive authors, I just borrow them from my friends or download them as e-book :)

When I was little, I always used to want something to collect, but never really knew "what" - so I started to collect frogs. Weird, and no purpose, other than just to be collecting something. Then when I was an early adult, I wanted to start collecting thimbles, and everyplace I went, I would get a commerative thimble. My MIL always gave me a bunch of decorative, antique thimbles from other countries...but then we had a fire and lost everything. So I've never gotten back into collecting anything, and I'm back to the "what" again. Full circle. hmmm...

I used to collect times when I was little but since eletronic stamps became abundant when the post office just gives you a sticker like tag I lost interest in collecting them so I sold them to another collector.
Thanks!

Same here lafavarito! i collect books too.. I have a tonnes of books. When I was a kid I promised myself that I was gonna have a library in my house to keep all my books. And I still feel that way now.. I guess a small study room filled with books will be good enough if I don't have the money... But definitely books! And magazines, I collect magazines too.. =)
