Should students be given punishment for not doing the homework??

I too feel that children should be punished for not doing homework.The punishments though should not be very harsh.Harsh punishments only lead to children lying,or even making parents do their homework to avoid punishments.If the child knows that he cannot get away without doing homework,he would become regular,comprehend better,grasp well in class the next day,and would not find it very taxing before exams.So i feel punishments should be given with the motive of making students regular with their work.

I feel doing homework is essential so punishment should be there but yes not harsh one. I feel student should be made to do the work then and there only and after finishing only then he should be allowed to take part in activities he likes, like sports or arts.

I don't know about punishments but the kid must be told the importance and the purpose of the homework. If punishing them by giving them extra homework or making them answer the homework right then and there will make them understand what homeworks really is about, then I think it's just right. But humiliating them for not doing their homeworks or some other form or punishment just might not work.

i think that the punishment should not be too harsh for the students. this is coz no one in interested in studies in their childhood as this the age when every child is busy in playing with their belongings. they dont have much knowledge about the importance of studies. so by punishment they r not going to understand the importance of homework rather they will get stubborn after a certain period of time and they will not be feared by punishments anymore. so they should be motivated and they should be guided by the teachers to show the importance of studies in their mind so that they take it seriously, then they will not make false excuses also and will try to complete their homework.
