Since i was a child, i had not much intrest in reading novels and short stories, but now i m planning to develop a habit of reading a novel, how do start, since i know some literature stories are pretty complicated and u may sometime may not be able to get the essence or the irony of it.

Start with a book of your interest. Take one and target to finish 5 pages per day to start with. THen keep on increasing it. You can read while travelling or just before going to bed. In this way you can improving your speed. Its not a bad idea to discuss with a friend what yo are reading recently.

I think you should start with something that you like to read about and do more of that. Pretty soon you can read any novel you like.

I am had the same problem my self. I think you should start with novels that intrest you. most of the time is similar to what interest you in movies, you can find novels that are comedy, horror, drama etc.
Now you got interested in a certain type of novels, try to make time for it everyday (Best time for me is before I go to bed) It will come to you naturally because you will be the one wanting to read that novel daily to know what happens next.
Hope this helps.
