I probably wont use Vista at all if I can help it. I have a lot of older games that just won't work on it. If I hadn't finally found a patch for Win XP I wouldn't be able to run some of them at all. And that's using Fat32 instead of NTFS. I made the mistake of formatting my wifes hard drive using that shortly before her P.S. blew in her old Gateway. The thing was so old we couldn't find a replacement so I swapped her newer and much bigger drive out for my smaller older one. Then I found out I could'nt play those games, and it wasn't until recently that we were able to get her a new PC. Since Vista doesn't use Fat32, I have no use for it. Besides, when I first bought my copy of XP, the scanner was not supported and couldn't be used, and the printer drivers weren't recognised. I had to settle for the generic windows drivers instead. Why would anyone want to switch before all those issues were addressed? How long will it take the video card vendors or anyone else to come out with compatable hardware? It seems to me that would be something worthy of consideration.

I think that Vista is not yet that stable since it is newly released. So for me, I'd stick to XP until Vista becomes stable.

Please note that the Beta veriosn is gone an Vista is scheduled for release on 30th Jan. A full version is never unstable. 99% bug is fixed in full version. So if u want to use thn get vista after 30th jan and start usn it.

Accept it, what's new is new. You can't release something that is perfect. For me, I think getting a copy of Vista would be the time when they already have service packs for the said OS.

for the moment i preffer Windows XP, because i used it for a while, is stabile, don't recquire a lot of phisical resources like Vista, most application can function in xp. and we must not forget we don't know too much about Vista(except Aero Interface:))

Windows Vista is quite an improvement in desktop computing. So if you have minimum system requirements fro Windwos Vista then u should go for Windows Vista. I m planning to jump to Windows Vista after its release on 30th Jan. It has infinite reasons to be choosen over Windows XP. I really like the AERO effects in Windows Vista Ultimate.

I think that Microsoft is just adding eye-candy with this new OS. They just like to get the MAC feel of their OS. Compared to a MAC OS, Vista really eats up your budget on pc hardware alone.

Xp for now, because the Vista is so new that you would get tons and tons of viruses and trojans!

The biggest thing that is going to hinder Microsoflts new Operating system 'vista' is current hardware and drivers. there is going to be a lot of aftermarket hardware that is not going to work well with vista right away
