Study abroad was one of the best experiences of my life. I went to Sevilla, Spain for 5 months during my junior year of college. I also went to Costa Rica for about 3 months after graduating from college. I was able to learn about another culture and myself. I learned a lot about myself while I was there. I became more independent, less shy, and less concerned about what others thought. I was there for me, no one else. I was there to have fun and improve my Spanish and I didn't want anything to get in my way. My friends and family could tell a difference when I got back. I was more confident. If I could have conversations, make travel arrangements, and talk to people I didn't know over the phone in Spanish, then of course I could do all of that with more ease in English. I really enjoyed learning about the culture as well. It makes you aware that there is so much else out there and so many other ways of doing things. I feel I really became an open-minded person. I also feel that this experience helped me in the work force. I am able to work well with people of different backgrounds and cultures and I am open to new experiences. I have seen that there is not just one right way to accomplish a task.

It is good to go abroad not only for the study, but to know other cultures. I think India is a very closed country, which does not let in and out anything.

I do not see any wrong at all.It is perfectly right to earn more money, ear more success, become a more competent person. But you know to gain some you have to loose some. You have to amke some small sacrifices but that is worth doing it as it will give high returns later on.

going abroad for studies doesn't mean that we are lacking good education system.if we had a bad edcation system then we would not have qualified in the entarence tests for going abroad.it is our employment system which is not good.they give preferance toforign educated students and mostly those who study abroad tend to find employment their itself and settle. in America we have lots of Indian doctors and nurses.and ofcoarse lots of software professionals.the whole world acknowledges our education system.

If you have the resources needed to study abroad, why not, come to the Philippines, It is not so expensive and education is good in our country.

i believe that we all need to expand and grow and sometimes it is best to give a hands on study in a location that is more suitable but i do agree that there should be alternatives for evey country to study locally.
