Online Money-making Successes

I have had 5 successful business websites since 1997. I get residual income from two of them. One thing I've learned for certain .. if you really want to make good money on the Internet, it will take hard work .. and, you have to play by the rules. Those who spam and scam may make a few big bucks for a moment, but they won't be around very long .. it catches up with them sooner or later. One of my business ventures, which used three websites, required advertising in magazines to get people to visit my websites so they would sign-up for my services.
Another venture has brought people to me for my services entirely from their searching on the web for someone who does what I do, and finding my website .. I'm very good at search engine optimization, so my websites usually come up in the top 10 or 20 in the search engine returns. But, this requires a lot of work and the usage of multiple strategies together to make a webpage search engine optimized.
mylot.com is fun, and provides a challenge to see if a little extra money can really come from a venture like this. But, we should take advantage of this opportunity to learn even better ways of earning money on a larger scale.
So, my advice to you is to find a real business venture, and build a website that follows the rules, then start working on getting it optimized for the search engines. This requires keyword usage, inbound links, and other things .. I also use blogs to help raise my rankings on my business sites, such as my Online Shopping Mall.
Have fun, work hard, play fair .. success will come.

My best tip of the day .. if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes years of living and experience to realize what is too good to be true.
So, second best tip of the day .. find a mentor who is already successful and do what they tell you, whether it makes sense or not.

Thank you for this post. I only have 2 online businesses going right now. One is a personalized gifts mall (over 3000 products) and the other is selling domain/websites. The domain name one is slowly growing and will end up making me a very nice monthly income. But it is only growing because everyone involved in it believes just as you have stated! We work as a team helping each other. I don't understand how people now days can say they want their own business on the internet but don't expect to have to lift a finger to make it work. Sucess only comes from your own efforts. If someone tells you that you can have a nice income with only 5 min. a day then you are being scammed for sure. Thanks again for this great insight. :-)

When people actually believe that those who have wealth only got it by stealing and oppressing others, they then feel they can get "wealth" by doing those things. HOWEVER, true wealth can never be gained and kept by stealing, or by harming others. Success is always best when it is a win-win situation. I help you get what you want / need, and in return you help me get what I want / need. He who gives the best service wins! Oh, no .. nobody wants to serve.
The girl at the McDonald's greeted me with a big smile and a warm "Good morning" today .. as I got ready to leave with my purchase, I told her "I love your attitude . . have a blessed day" .. She understood I was acknowledging how important her attitude is.
I refused to sign up with a major real estate brokerage simply because of the attitude of their recruiter .. she always caused me to feel I was imposing upon her ..
When we work for an employer who serves the public, those customers are the source of our income .. we BETTER act like we are happy they are there or they will go somewhere else and the employer will have to let us go because he no longer has customers ...
Our attitude dictates our altitude .. bad attitude, down in the dumps; great attitude, fly over the humps.

Am so glad that you shared this here. Have seen many people that want the quick dollar and have minimum effort. I have shaken my head at the sorry state that todays people seem to have. The corner office with no training or effort to earn their way there. Working from the bottom up is an exciting venture with learning opportunities along the way. The sense of accomplishment once you achieve your goal! So I am glad that you have detailed this here and am hoping that everyone that needs to see this and learns and makes a promising start to a brighter future.

Thank-you for your affirmation ... someone said that the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary! Part of the definition of being an entrepreneur is being innovative .. taking a common idea and giving it an uncommon twist!

I do not know of any websites where you can work part-time unless you have special skills .. are you a computer programmer? An author? A sales person?
If you want to develop a website to sell services or products to people, it will take you at least 3 months to start seeing any income .. and you will have to work very hard getting your website indexed in the search engines so people can find it.

You are right on here, and the same principles apply whether people are trying to make a living in the "real world" or the cyber world. Although there are an element of people who think that earning a living on the internet is somehow different to working in a real world job, i.e. it should be easier, more money and all for less effort of course.
The other thing I have noticed is that a number of people start doing something on the internet and when they don't make their fortune in a week, they say they are being scammed. The only time they are being scammed is firstly if they believe that they can retire on after a few weeks but still continue to earn a minimum of 10 times what they would from a "real world" job, and of course if they have paid money for instructions on how to do this.
What they don't realise is that nothing comes free in this world and we only get out of it what we put in. Also sites like myLot are not meant to be a living income, unless of course you can get a minimum of 500 referrals who are all very active every day here on myLot, not to mention the fact that they too must put in a reasonable amount of time to earn as well.
Our Accountant always used to say "if it sounds too good to be true, then keep your money because it probably is too good to be true", i.e. it is a scam.
Thanks for your advice on this subject and it is very much appreciated, although at this time I do nothing other than myLot and that suits me fine. :)

The fastest way to get your website indexed is to get a link to your website from another website that is already indexed.
