Chronic Pain and the Weather

Do you think the weather plays a part in your pain level? I do. When it is cold, I am in more pain than when the weather is warm. I also tend to hurt horribly when it is rainy and cloudy. I know that some medical communities say this is all "in my head" but I know when I hurt and when I don't. Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, I feel like you do too. The dampness gets into the joints and makes them hurt more. And, humidity, also hurts. As it causes swelling around the joints. It is not in your heard dear. I gave you a +++ rating for your posting. It was very good.

I also believe the weather plays a role in a persons pain level when they suffer from Fibromyalgia or any other kind of arthritis. I know that my muscles and joints hurt much more when it is justcold or cold and damp. Another thing that impacts my pain is being tired. If I wear myself out and am overly tired, I will experience more pain.

Yes, I do think it's play a part in our pain level. I've had Fibromyalgia for 20 years, and in the beginning, heat used to really help me, but now, I happen to think the cold works better. It really depends on the person, so obviously I'm the opposite. I hope you feel better.

I am in constant pain and it gets worse when the weather gets cold or damp. I had no idea that this happened to other people too. I hate to say this but I am glad that I am not the only one. Sometimes I feel like the only one that is this much pain. It is not all in your head. There are alot of things that medical science has not figured out yet.

Yes, when I am cold I hurt and ache much worse than I do in warm weather. I do not know if the cause is fibromyalgia or the arthritis in my spine. It makes me want to try the bee sting treatments used by alternative medical professionals. I have seen so much on how once the bee stings the person in the place of pain, after a minute or two, it is gone. I'd risk it!
