I would definitely choose the computer. With the computer you can get the news, access entertainment sites, watch videos and play games, and stay connected with people. You can even earn money on MyLot! It's "one-stop shopping", for sure. Plus, it's hard to snack and overeat when you're typing!

That would be a hard choice, on one hand I have had tv all my life where I only have had a computer for the last few years. Although I think you can hook up cable to a computer now so the sneaky way around your question would be to go with computer.

I have have to say I'd choose my computer. After all it has got to the point that you can do everything on your computer that you can do on a tv. You can watch tv, watch DVDs, listen to music, watch the news, etc. Plus you can look up any information you need with your computer and you can't do that with a tv.

Yeah, I agree. Computer over tv, because computer basically can be considered as a better "TV".

I would choose for sure a computer, because it's interactive, I can choose what to do and what to see or not, I love videogames, surfing the internet and watching TV through it. Instead TV is only an old thing...not so interactive..you must watch only a few programs you find...and if you don't like them, you can only power it off :)

I would definitely choose the computer. I acn entertain myself with computer very much like the TV and I can get updated myself geting the news in internet. But the other thing I get from the computer like mailing or chating with friends would not be accesible through the TV. So, Computer is the best:).

Although I'm tempted to cheat and say that I would pick the computer and not miss anything because we can get so many TV shows online. I watched Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters just this morning. But I realize that this violates the spirit of the question.
Still, I would pick the computer regardless, although I would certainly miss television. There is a world of information, and entertainment and work opportunity on the computer, so there's really no competition there for me.

I would choose my computer. I am in touch with the world on a one to one basis. I can still watch tv though it, if I wanted. Listen to music though it. I can work and do research. Can even talk or see someone else I want to communicate with. On tv, you are much more limited.

This is a really good question! *laugh* But I would choose the computer, unless the computer in question were not allowed to have the internet. Because I couldn't stand to be without the internet! *laugh* Plus, about 75% of what I watch are videos that I get from around the internet, anyway. I don't even watch that much American television anymore. Maybe two nights a week I watch a few sitcoms and things. I'm mostly into British tv, which I can get through Uknova.com. So I dont really need a tv. And I could hopefully even get ahold of the few US shows that i still watch via the internet, as well. So it really isn't like i need a television as long as my computer monitor keeps working! *laugh*

I would defnitely choose my computer. I hardly ever watch tv except for a few select shows but I am on my computer pretty much on a daily basis. Anything I want to know about, I can find out by turning on my trusty little friend. I think if I offered the choice to my kids, they too would pick the computer. Great discussion!

I pick computer because it seems that just about everything I want to watch on TV is already available online. TV shows, movies, the weather, news....
And then, there are various sites and games on the internet that I couldn't get on TV.
