I'm not cooking for dinner tonight. Me and my roomates are just going to eat leftovers from last night since nobody was really hungry last night. Hopefully there is still enough for everybody to get some.

Tonight I cooked breaded pan-fried trout fillets, breaded fried okra and cajun rice. But don't worry, I cook it all in olive oil! Trying to stay somewhat healthy. I'm from the south (U.S)

I have started making chili as soon as I had woken up. Though I am making it in the slow cooker so I just threw all of the ingredients in the slow cooker together & I am awaiting for them to be done rather soon. The smell within the house is to die for.. I love how every time I cook things in the slow cooker that.. The smell ends up filling the entire house.. It makes one very hungry rather fast! haha.
I included the recipe below if anyone is interested in making this dish I am talking about as of right now.
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx
"Crock Pot Chili."
Ingredients are as follows:
- 2 pounds of ground beef, browned & drained
- 2 cans of kidney beans, drained
- 2 medium onions, diced coarsely
- 1 or 2 cups of celery
- 2 cans of tomato sauce
- 2 cans of stewed tomatoes (optional)
- 1 1/2 tbsp of salt
- 1 tsp of pepper
- 3 tsp of chili powder (or as much as desired) - Note: If anyone decides to make this dish.. Be careful not to much to much chili powder though.. As chili powder can be rather over-whelming I have found.)
- 1 or 2 cloves garlic
- 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp of cumin (optional)
Directions are as follows:
- Brown the ground beef firstly. Then drain the excess fat. Note: If you aren't doing this.. But instead are just putting the meat in the crock pot to cook on it's own instead of browning it before hand.. It may take longer to cook.)
- Then add the ground beef to the crock pot.
- And then put all the other ingredients in the order listed in to the crock pot. Stir through.
- Then cover & cook on low for roughly 10 to 12 hrs. If you want it to cook a lot faster put it on high instead.. For roughly 5 to 6 hrs. (May take not as long since the hamburger is already cooked. If you do it with the frozen hamburger it may take roughly this time or even longer.. So it's a preference or decision one can make as each person is different.)
- Once it is done cooking then serve in a bowl. And put cheese on top.. Then heat it up in the microwave if desired! ENJOY! xx

Cooking? Dinner? Does mac & cheese out of a box with hot dogs count as cooking? Do I win some sort of reward for my creative and so very original dinner? I know that my meal sounds very appealing so if you insist I share the recipie I will be glad to !
