I prefer to use Adobe Photoshop to edit my photos. I can edit my pictures in custom. Adobe Photoshop, or simply Photoshop, is a graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Systems. It is the current market leader for commercial bitmap and image manipulation, and, in addition to Adobe Acrobat, is one of the best-known pieces of software produced by Adobe Systems. It is considered the industry standard in most jobs related to the use of visual elements. Photoshop is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Mac OS; versions up to Photoshop 9.0 can also be used with other operating systems such as Linux using software such as CrossOver Office. Past versions of the program were ported to the SGI IRIX and Sun Solaris platforms, but official support for this port was dropped after version 3.

Adobe Photoshop is by far the most professional pice of image editing software available on the market, but that does not necessarily infer that it would be a good choice for everyone. Photoshop is not as user friendly as the more modest programs such as Paint Shop Pro, and despite my love of Photoshop it takes time to become accustomed to many of the options. In fact, I doubt if I use the majority of available features and there are no doubt quite a few that I am even unaware of. The majority of Computer Magazines choose Paint Shop Pro to demonstrate how to perform certain tasks in their workshop tutorials.

So far based from the photo editors I have tried that are out around the globe I consider Adobe Photoshop to be the ultimate software in imaging category. I used MSPaint, Corel, etc... so far it's the photoshop that catches my attention. With it, you can play with all the pictures in the internet or download a your favorite actress/actor pictures and replace it with yours.Hahahaha..this is what I do during my idle times. But I'm not a pro on designing I am just in the state of learning it's little feature. Cheers =p

Photoshop I think is the best of the best, but for those who can't afford it Paint Shop Pro is a good alternative. It has a lot of the same things Photoshop has but not quite as extravigant.

Personally, I prefer Paint Shop. No real reason I guess other than I'm more familiar with it.

I agree with your reasoning, BunGirl. Photoshop is a professional image editing software and the most proficient on the market, but it is not a user friendly program. Paint Shop Pro is more than capable of performing the tasks that the average person would require and is far easier to use. A lot of my friends use Paint Shop Pro for this very reason. If you find that the program suits your needs then you have made the right choice.

Well, I have never used photoshop, it has never been within my budget. But I recently received this link...this is public domain, therefore free. It is supposed to be as good as photoshop. www.gimp.org Download it and give it a shot.

When I saw this topic, the first thing that popped into my mind was Gimp. It would have to be one of the closest rivals to Photoshop(it is known as "the free Photoshop" to some people) whether it is better than Adobe Photoshop simply depends on preference. The fact that you can do almost anything in gimp as you can in Adobe's image editor, and it being a free open source program puts it a notch above Photoshop in my opinion.

Photoshop is the industry stanard in photo editing. I've been using it for a few years already. I have tried using other photo editing programs but I still find Photoshop better. Corel Painter is a good choice too. It comes a close second.

photo shop is the best there is no other software that can match it, however it is abit expensive. and i would say it is really for professionals, if u can settle for less u could try fireworks which is a good photo editing software, or you can try GIMP it is a free photo editing software it is open source and it is quite good, try GIMP before buying photoshop and fireworks i suggest, if u like GIMP than u dun need to pay for those softwares.

the best thing about photoshop is while using it you do not need to depend on any other software to look for more features.
