I stumbled on this one by accident today, and I'm going to be a typical president! I will buy my friend a jet to go and visit his girl every weekend all expenses paid, wait better I will make Air-force One (i think it is what it is called?)available for you when ever you want it! How is that for a 'typical' President! I'm counting on your vote:D

Once I contribute heavily to your campaign and
vote "twice" for you I'm going to expect nothing
less than first class perks. The use of Air Force
One to visit my girl and the presidential motorcade
to go to McDonalds is the least I would hope for.
One last thing when you become madam president.
Bring all your pets. Not just one like most these
wimpy presidents have.

Now that's what I'm talking about.
Let's turn the White House lawn
into a full-fledged zoo.

I couldn't have summed it up better. War
is no answer for anything. It really doesn't
benefit anyone but those with no conscious.
I'm talking about the super wealthy.

The United States is such a big country. How to manage a country that huge is still mind boggling for me. It must be very difficult to be in the president's shoes. So many problems to solve, so many calamities to cope with, not counting the need to keep the country's economy at high levels as the whole world looks up to him. If I were president of the United States, I must be keen on listening to the advises of the cabinet and take heed of the people's needs. There is no way I can be running the country better than President Bush.

Well that poll was overwhelming Democrats, so I don't think its really a good basis to go by.
I would be tougher on the spread of Islamic Extremism to stop the spread of terrorism in the world.

There's the possibility you could. You know
why I say this? Because you're open minded
enough to see the big picture. This president
doesn't listen to his cabinet, he does what
he wants. He doesn't care about our needs.
That's why his overall approval rating is at
an all time low of 28%.
So there is a 72% chance you very well could
do a better job than Bush.

I would stop the war in the middle east. First of all its just taking people lives and its using a lot of peoples taxes. I'd focus more on economics and programs that would give people more jobs.

A big thank you! If you I and I'm sure
many, many others can see that, why can't
he and his advisers? I'll tell you why.
Because they don't want to. They have
their own agenda and the American people
they're supposed to represent, doesn't
matter anymore. All that matters to these
pompous azzes is money and power. Not
doing the right thing. ‹(°¿°)›

Yeah... Everyone of them have their own hidden agenda. The president is just following his father's footsteps. Or he wants to surpass what his father have done. It all boils down to how he'd been a part of history. And that's how he wants to be remembered.

Couldn't have said it much better myself.
I'll tell you this much. When people look
back 100 years from now at this president,
they're going to be mighty disgusted.

I would completely change my policies, foreign and domestic..My foreign policies would be geared in helping other nations to be self sufficient and would introduce perma culture into many nations, like African nations with deserts and droughts I would help with projects to reclaim deserts, as they have done in Irael/Palestine. This way when other nations are prosperous, there is no need for mass migrations..That would solve the immigration problem..Secondly for internal policies I would drastically change education in schools, teaching the kids yoga and tai ji from a young age..How to be self sufficient and useful individuals who, without losing their personal identity , would also become good members of the society. The Pentagon would have less powers, along with the contractors like Black Water and M.R.I..and more and better salaries and facilities given to the United States Servicemen..I would halt the War in Iraq and engage with real negotiations to sort out trouble spots..And the list goes on..I would reduce nuclear Energy and replace it with wind and solar and put tighter Laws fore a greener America..I would give less powers to the Corporate media and fund the Little guys who want to spit out the truth effectively to create a truly Democratic Nation..Not an Oligarchic one we have at the moment..

I think your first sentence says it all.
I agree, there's no reason why the African
deserts can't be developed and made suitable
for living.
Look what has become of Las Vegas to name one.
You've got my vote when it comes to reforming
the school system. So many changes are needed
with the control of mind and body being near
the top of the list.
Oh goodness you've tweaked a nerve by mentioning
the corrupt Defense Dept. and the contractors that
work for the dept. Of course as president you can
rectify these problems. Using just an ounce more of
common sense than the current Texas tumbleweed.
Soldiers like police and firemen are grossly under-
payed considering the nature of their jobs. I can't
for the life of me understand why these professions
have gone so overlooked. Add teachers to that list
as well.
Negotiations would be nice but "man" not necessarily
women, don't understand the concept. Men only truly
understand force and power which never works out to
anyone's benefit as history has proven so many times.
I've said for years that I believe the right woman
would make a better president than most she followed.
I believe a woman possess the inner self needed to
understand another's plight. I believe that a woman
knows how to properly extend an olive branch and
have it be excepted graciously.
A greener America means a healthier people. Healthier
people mean happier people. Happier people mean more
productive members of society. I don't see why my
government doesn't understand this simple concept.
Don't worry, corporate media has lost its credibility
here. The majority doesn't respect much of what spews
forth anymore. It is a shame that the honest word is
suppressed. There may come a day soon when investors
realize the potential in getting the truth out.
Oh if you only knew how close you are indeed of your
assessment of our current political state. Be very
scared. Be very, very scared. No matter where you
live. Here or abroad.

1. Pass the Community Choice Act, a bill which would allow people with all disabilities to live at home and receive support services like personal care assistance (help with using the bathroom, getting dressed, and so on or even basic things like remembering to take meds). Bill # is HR 1621 and S.799. This would save the States a billion dollars per year.
2. Same day voter registration, which would more people to be involved in the US political process.
3. Instant Run off voting, which would allow people to vote for their first choice, their seconf choice, and third choice and so on.
4. Repeal the global gag rule, which doesn't allow organizations that receive US AID to use their own money (not ours) to discuss, advocate, or perform abortions, as well as the Hyde Amendment, which bans Federal Medicaid money from being used to cover abortions.

I absolutely agree with you. I am disabled
and have been following the progress of the
Community Choice Act. Though I am young I
found myself in a nursing home for about 10
months covered by institutional Medicaid.
Boy was I in for a shock when I left and was
trying to get back on my feet (literally in my
case). Doors were slamming shut everywhere. The
thing that saved me was my tenacity and persistence.
Our voting system (process) is antiquated. With
technology the way it is voting should be literally
instantaneous. The current system is meant to bend
or break when needed.
I'll be honest, I'm not familiar with the global
gag rule or the Hyde Amendment. I will tell you
his however, it's never about what's best for the
people but what's best for a politician's career.
Great points.

I would eliminate this party business. You have too many arguements and mud slinging which actualy delays things getting done, just time being wasted.
I would also add new bills which make healthcare and other issues mandatory to be resolved. No more of this will keep disscussing it, immediate resolve...if we can go help foreign countries then we can help ourselves.
next of all would be back to american made, please and stop taking work away from our own people.
Support the farming industry, common sense , you need food in abundance to meet the needs of the growing population as well as to store food for the stroage facilities...

I'm right with you on "almost" eliminating
the parties. We can't do that and expect to
be treated fairly. That's exactly what was
happening when The Congress and Bush were in
control together.
What I suggest is to keep the Legislative Branch
as a two or more party platform. What I would
change is make the Executive Branch, president
and vice president from opposing parties. This
way the president HAS to negotiate for what he
wants. Whether his party is in control of the
House or not.
Perhaps someday someone with a sense of reality
like you or I will sit in the Oval Office. Until
then all we can do is keep our wish lists handy.

First thing first, I would stop dispatching army to Middle East. Then I may reduce the funds spent on making weapons and save some money to help the needy people in the country and help poor people in backward nations to set up a better enviroment so that they can develop effecient means to produce food to feed themselves.

Excellent ideas. I always wonder why, if you, I
and so many others can see this, why can't these
idiots see it in Washington?

I would begin by cutting the money being spent in other countries (not stopping all aid, but reducing so that there is more available to our own countries needs) and refocusing it here in the states to help rebuild the south after hurricane katrina, to help feed and cloth more homeless, and to assist our own people in getting an education. I would propose reasonable national health care and offer a viable solution to this problem, not just a bandaid on the problem that will need to be fixed again within a few years.

You've got some great ideas. The problem is,
we can't get anyone with a human heart in
Washington. People like you, I or many others
could really get things done. Because, unlike
the politicians, we haven't lost our empathy
and compassion for our fellow man.

Excellent. Now why can't we get people
with at least half a brain in Washington.
I'll take a politician with half a brain
over one with a full wallet, any day.
Think about that.

I don't know how I would do it but I would want everyone to have health care and to address the homeless situation. In our country today, there should not have to be people who have nowhere to live or they have no health insurance.

I totally agree. The government just doesn't get it.
They're so out of touch with the citizens it's
tearing the country up.

One of the things I would focus on right away is health care. Its a huge disgrace in my eyes that we are spending billions of dollars around the globe on the war machine, while there are people who are sick here that can't get decent health care. We are supposed to have some of the best medical care available (for those who can afford it) but still we have poor people who can't get admitted to a hospital or get their teeth fixed. That is a shame!
Education also has to become more of a national focus. While every child here is provided a free education, there is a great gap in the quality of schooling from one district to the next. If you change a childs school from one to the other even within the same state you can clearly see the differences in what they are taught.
Another area that concerns me is the environment. Funding on sustainable fuels should be a priority for many reasons, not only because of the positive effect that would have on the environment, but also because it would greatly reduce our need for middle eastern oil.

Very good thoughts. Why is it that we as, common
citizens, can figure it out, yet these trained
monkey's in Washington can't. Let's face it. It's
no accident these people are in Washington. They
are groomed for their roles.
All I can say is, our government knows of our plights
and woes but couldn't care less because they only serve
a certain tax bracket we can only fantasize about.
