i'd rather settle in a house coz you really feel that it's yours. you don't to share parking spaces, stairs or elevators. during calaminities you can easily run out of the house without bumping in to your neighbors in the condo.

I think it's a matter of taste. Condos have LOTS less maintenance, and no yardwork. Plus you know your neighbors' homes will alwyas look nice since everything has to look uniform.
I do agree that condos can be too close for comfort. I think I'm going to buy a townhouse. less yard to maintain but it's still more like "mine" than a condo....

house is actually the normal thing to settle with. in the long run and especially if you already have kids on your own.
however, as for me at the moment, since we just bought our own condo unit.
i think it's beneficial for us since, it's so near to the place where we work.
the convinience that the grocery and mall are just on the lower floor.
there are no brownouts. no garbage since there are collectors each day. secure since there are guards roaming.
and the amenities you enjoy.
unlimited use of the swimming pool, free membership at the gym, cafetia... and many more...
but ofcourse.. i still do want a big big house... once me and hubby have our baby. :D

obviously a house. it is best to own a thing than be on someone else's place.

i'd prefer a house but i also want to own my own condo. a house because i know that i'll be having a family someday and that it's proper to have them a house, a condo, well that's for my personal use only since i'll be living in the city when i get ti work there, and a city for me is not an ideal place to have a house or a family raised. a condo is suitable in that situation.

Yep, rather stay in my own house than a condo unit. Besides the price premium over these babies, it's so small and cramped for my taste. I love privacy, so i think i wouldn't like it in a condo setting.

If i'm still single, i would prefer to live in a condo. It's more convenient since you get to live in the city, you get to have all the amenities that the condo offers plus it's easier to maintain.
But now that I have a family, I would prefer a house than a condo. Since a house is more spacious than a condo, and we really need a big space for our baby. Plus once you gave your full payment for the house & lot, you are not oblige to pay for the monthly association dues as most condos require.

However, if there is a calamity, there are lots more people around to help! Maybe I'm just trying to be positive since I'm on the 14th floor of a condo building.
I love having a concierge at my condo to accept packages and turn away ex boyfriends. But it'd be nice to have a big yard and a parking space where I could get into it without scraping my paint job up on the concrete columns that I'm sandwiched between!
