What is the best P2P programs in your opinion. Can you tell me.
My favorite P2P is Limewire.
LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the Java Platform, which uses the Gnutella network to locate and transfer files. Released under the GNU General Public License, Limewire is free software.
Features
Written in the Java programming language, LimeWire runs on any computer with a Java Virtual Machine installed. To facilitate installation for casual users, installation packages are available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and in the RPM format for Linux. Support for Mac OS 9 and other previous versions was dropped with the release of LimeWire 4.0.10. The Windows version of the LimeWire installer includes a version of Sun Microsystems' Java installer which will download and install version 1.5 of the Java Runtime Environment if it detects the machine does not have a recent version of Java installed.
LimeWire uses the SHA-1 and tiger tree hash cryptographic hash functions to ensure that downloaded data is uncompromised. Although researchers have identified possible vulnerabilities in the SHA-1 algorithm, because LimeWire does not rely on SHA-1 alone, these vulnerabilities do not have many adverse implications for LimeWire's verification of downloaded files.
If a user has iTunes on their computer, LimeWire can use iTunes to play downloaded music instead of LimeWire's built-in music player.
Limewire offers the sharing of its library through Digital Audio Access Protocol. As such, when LimeWire is running, any files shared will be detectable on the local network by DAAP-enabled devices (eg. iTunes).

Neat. About half a year ago, maybe longer, I tried to get some Pando filesharing going on some of the forums I visit. No one wanted to try it, though. Glad to see there are some groups up for it, although I'm unsure of how long they'll last. (Since it's on Yahoo.) I may very well check it out, thanks for the link.

After trying several p2p programs such as Kazaa, Shareaza, eMule, BitTorrent (uTorrent, ABC and Azureus) and LimeWire my favorite is BT, no doubt about it.
It's way faster than all the others and the chance to download fake files is really low, at least from the trackers I use.

Im also using lime wire .Its very fast compared to others like morpheous etc.But the disadvantage in this is it can only download from one network ie gnutella network while other programs like morpheous can download through multiple networks. But i still use limewire which has a very easy user interface.

I use BitTorrent for movies and TV shows, as well as Shareaza sometimes.
For music, though, I prefer SoulSeek (http://www.slsknet.org}. I can usually find any album I want on there pretty quickly, and it allows you to add friends and share files with each other.

Yeah, SoulSeek is amazing for music. As for clients that support multiple networks, another one is Shareaza. (http://www.shareaza.com/) It supports EDonkey2000, Gnutella, BitTorrent, and Gnutella2. I don't personally use it, but it would seem that some people like it.

Its Ares peer-to-peer file sharing application that runs best. I have a poor experience with Limewire as it shares virus and with inappropriate filenames.

Johnravikanth is right. Most of the downloads on LimeWire nowadays are malware.

no I prefer emule file sharing software! It's a software based on ed2k network (with server) and kademlia network (serverless!). It's based on a credit system so who is uploading will download too. Who set to a low upload limit emule, is punished and will download not so much! It's the biggest p2p network I think, because I can find there every type of software or music or videogame! I love emule! There many modded versions too, some lights, some with more functions

I only use Limewire really. I don't know how bittorrents work so I stick to the reliable gnutella p2p clients. Limewire seems to be the most popular program since it doesn't have spyware or adware and is pretty reliable. I like the interface and it has some pretty good results, not great but usually good enough. The only problem is that some times downloads cancel.

BitTorrent is quite simple. The biggest difference is that instead of downloading directly out of the client, you download off various sites. (Which actually generally improves the quality. Since sites can be moderated.) A site I highly recommend is Torrentz.com. There are loads of other sites, and a list can be found here; http://filesoup.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=links Just remember to read the comments on whatever you're downloading, they'll generally indicate if anything is wrong with the file.

I use torrent software, BitTorrent for downloading files from the internet. At first, I used Kazaa and I found it to be quite exciting, but it was shutdown and I came know that these P2P file sharing networks are illegal and many users were prosecuted for downloading files from them. So, now I have switched to torrent, as it is legal.

BitTorrent is no more legal then the other networks if you're downloading copyrighted files. Although I know of no out-right law suits, I know of many people getting cease & desist letters because of BitTorrent. The chances of you getting a letter is small, but, there is still a chance. As for networks being legal, they're all legal, or atleast they should be. It's the content on them that isn't.

I used to use edonkey, I loved that program. It might not be the fastest but when you downloaded in bulk it seemed to speed up and the search engine was great. Now that's defunct, I use emule and I quite like it. I like how it tells the user if someone has the complete file because edonkey never did so often you weren't sure. The speed isn't all that but with kad implimented (i'm not entirely sure what it is) but the main thing about it is that you can find some rare files there that wouldn't show on the networks, I also use limewire and really it's very nice. you can download and share whatever you want. I got so many good softwares from there

I have to agree that lime wire is the best so far, better than kazza, better napster, i think, when napster first started everyone is going nuts over that, and now, the only free one is limewire, it is amazing how time change and how people and the music business change over the years.

Have you noticed that most of the items that come up when you do a search in LimeWire are all the same size? They're Trojans.
Personally, I use FTP. It's faster than P2P and BitTorrent, and you don't have to wait. Reason being, you're downloading from a server, rather than peers. And I've yet to find an infected file on FTP (knock on wood). I'm sure they're out there, but I haven't run into any yet.

I have tried a lot of P2P programs before. Limewire, frostwire, emule, kazaa, ares, kazaa lite, etc. From my experience, the best would probably be shareaza. This is because shareaza connects to more P2P networks than other programs. Limewire for example only connects to gnutella1 network. emule only connects to edonkey network.
Shareaza connects to three networks (gnutella1, gnutella2 and edonkey). It also allows you to download files from other peers even if that peer is using another program (i.e. limewire, emule, bearshare). It can also function as FTP, and can be used to download torrents as well.
best of all, its open source
