need help! i can't acces my own folder :(

i just did the worst in my own computer... you see, i have two partitions for my harddrive... one for OS and the other for my files, this way, even if my OS crash, i can readily format it without the risk of erasing my documents.... the problem is, i made "my pictures" folder private, so when i reformatted my OS, i cannot access it! now i don't what to do so i can access my "my pictures" folder again... help please, anybody knows what i should do? i would really appreciate it... i already tried accessing it through DOS... no good result...
