Do You Bite Your Fingernails or Clip Them?

biting one's nails is totally disgusting! besides it wont look nice if your biting it..it'll look crooked.i say trimming is the best way..here in the philippines having manicures is always on the girls list..its a 'must-do' thing..and its so inexpensive to have your nails done here.

I have never bitten my fingernails and have no intention of doing that. I always use clippers for both my fingernails and my toenails. I think it is gross to bite your fingernails and it could hurt as well. Have no idea why people bite their nails.

I don't bite and don't clip. I only use file. I do it at least once a week, because I like to keep them short. I don't use any color, just clear nail polish.

Fortunately I don't have the habit of biting fingernail. I have noticed lot of people doing that. Specially children does that a lot.

I clip or file my nails. I can't stand biting them. It's really gross. My cousin used to bite hers until they bled and she would even bite her toenails. That did it for me...it's one of my pet peeves.

Unfortunately I bite them. I try not to, try to clip them but I always end up biting them....

I tend to bite mine when Im stressed out but the thing is I don't even notice until they are sore or bleeding.

I go every six weeks and have acrylic put over my nails. I don't have fake tips or anything... and I keep them short - but the acrylic keeps me from biting my nails... and my nails actually get painted that way. Otherwise I would chew them down until they hurt.

I used to bite them all the time. Now I clip them. I stopped biting them when I was pregnant with my daughter. The prenatal vitamins made them grow faster then I could bite. No not really I think I was just more calm and not as stressed. When I bit them I tried everything to stop, even that bitter nails stuff. That didn't even help. I just came acustom to the taste. But the bad thing is now my daughter is the nail biter. She even trys to bite ours sometimes.

I do not bite my nails i have never done that. I clip them when the start getting long i have to keep my nails sort of short because of my perfession. My fiance allways bites his nails he does it sometimes to the point that they bleed to!! It is so nasty i don't see why he would rather do that and make his fingers bleed and hurt, it really makes no sense to me but hey it not my nails right :)

When I was little I used to bite my finger nails .. and even my toe nails too .. when I was around 8-9 I trapped all my fingers in the house door which suddenly blew shut .. I had bandages on my hands for about 2 weeks .. and my fingers were sore for so long that I got out of the bad habit of biting my finger nails .. Nowadays I am on so many medications that my nails are very weak and only grow very slowly .. they rarely grow long enough to need trimming as they break off very easily ..

I always clip my finger nails now. I do this every week. I play guitar regularly and I need them clipped to play. I have biten them in the past, but find I sometimes tear them to short and they hurt. So it's clipping for me.

I try to clip them, but I must admit, sometimes they just get hung up on things and get caught so I bite them. I just don't seem to have a nail clipper around when I need it. I have never had a manicure.

i never clip my nails. i just bite it.whenever i feel bored i just bite my nails and think wat to do

I do both. I just notice I was biting mine nails right now. Its a hard thing to stop doing

I BITE them. It's a habit that I wish I could stop but, I CAN't. I try to let them grow and get a length that is pretty to where I could do a manicure but, whenever my nerves get bad I start biting them without even noticing.

My nails are very weak, a family trait, I don't need to do neither with all the housework I do on a daily basis they just break off naturally

I have only ever had one manicure and one pedicure in my whole life. I use my hands far to much to get things like that done to them, it doesn't last. I am forever cleaning or doing other stuff, even typing. I don't bite my nails, I clip them and very occasionally I may file them if an emery board is handy.

I always clip my fingernails. And I like keeping them short so I clip them once every five days. I like looking at my fingernails after they are clipped. They are short, clean and neat... :)

When I was growing up my cousin had to have her appendix removed and I was told it was because she bit her nails and a piece of nail got stuck in her appendix. I dont know whether or not that is possible (it seems logical) to me but anyways since that day I have never bitten my nails I always clip and file
