Iam 5 months preggy right now with our first child. I've always wanted a girl, girls are more responsible. but my husband wanted a boy coz he is an only son to carry on the family name...u know..chinses tradition. i have an ultrasound when i was on my 18weeks but the baby doesnt want to show its gender yet. i cant wait on the 31st to have another ultrasound again.so that i cud start buying baby things. i havent prepared anything yet cuz they say that its bad luck to start so early?

I have 1 boy and 3 girls. I personally think boys are easier to raise then girls....atleast for me. I heard and followed this "superstition" that it is bad luck to buy anything for an unborn baby or accept a gift before the 7th month of pregnancy, mainly due to the risk of miscarriage is a lot higher in the first 6 months....my opinion. I had an ultrasound with all my kids, and never knew with any of them except the day before having my last child, was I told she was a girl.....up until then, each of them were a surprise. I think my son is the most responsible out of all of my kids, but he is the oldest, but he is just a "good kid", my little girls are very ornery, and wild....he's the exact opposite, so to me he was easier to please and get a long with.

to me it didn't really matter as long as they are born healthy. i ended up having 2 kids one of each. i wouldn't trade neither one for anything in the world

As long as the baby is healthy then you are lucky. I know you will both love and care for the baby no matter what its gender. You could buy a few baby things that would be suitable to either a boy or girl?

yes. thats right as long as its healthy. but i dont like plain clothes with no designs...its better to have prints and colors. i think its just looks more presentable. =)

Som people think it's bad luck to buy baby things and bring them into the house before the baby is born, but I don't think so. I am 26 weeks pregnant now, and we were first told the baby was a boy. Then in our next ultrasound we were told it was a girl and they gave us pictures as proof. I'm just happy the baby is healthy, really. I hope it stays that way.

for us we prefer baby girl for eldest child.... she can help takes care another baby if we want one more after few years & be a responsible older sister. usually the girl can help with the household chores than the boys who usually don't care with younger siblings or just enjoy time playing around.

When I didn't have kids yet, I really didn't like to have a baby boy. I just felt that it was harder to take care of them. Or maybe I was just not into baby boys that time, and I felt that it would be more fun to take care of girls, we can treat them like little Barbie dolls, dress them up in different ways (full dress, skirt and shirt, shorts and shirt, etc). So when I first got pregnant, I wished that it would be a girl. Fortunately, I had a girl and had the best time taking care of her, buying her clothes, hair ribbons, all styles of shoes, etc. My second pregnancy, I also hoped for another girl, just so we can reuse my daughter's old stuff, including clothes, which would help us cut costs. We had a boy instead, but it's all worth it, having both genders make me feel complete. At least now I have a boy and a girl, and they both seem to be the same, in terms of work load. Baby boys aren't that bad after all. In fact, I'm having the time of my life now, dealing with both genders :) At least I can say that I know how to take care of baby boys and baby girls :) People do say that its bad luck to start buying early, earlier would be 7 months, from what I heard. But it's up to you if you wanna believe these things. If you have faith in God, and if the ultrasound says that the baby's healthy, I don't think there's anything to worry about. Just make sure that when they check the gender, they're sure, because I heard that if they say it's a girl, there is still a big possibility that it's gonna be a boy. I started buying my daughter's stuff when I was 4 months pregnant, but to be safe, I didn't buy pink (for girls) nor blue (for boys) stuff. Stick to the middle color like yellow. Safest would be white :) Have a safe and healthy pregnancy. Happy baby shopping!

I know where you are coming from. When i was pregnant with my first child i couldn't wait to find out if it was a boy or a girl. I also wanted to make sure that the baby was healthy as well. I wanted a girl, and my husband wanted a boy. Come to find out the baby was a girl. So a year later we decided to have another child. And it was a boy. So we had one of each. :)

Congratulation! You are now a mommy. Being a mother makes a woman complete. As to your issue of your child gender. What I can say is that you should be happy whether your child is a boy or a girl. The baby is a gift. And I think what God will give you is the best for you.

I have 2 boys and I don't have a girl. I didn't care either time. Both times I said I would like a boy for different reasons but as long as the baby was healthy I really didn't care at all.

It doesn't matter. I have a daughter and am pregnant with a son. Each have already given me so much joy. I love my daughter and who she is and I can't wait to experience life though the eyes of a boy. Each are eay and hard to raise and deal with but it's all worth it.

When I first found out that I was pregnant with my first child I wanted a girl. All I could think was pretty pink dresses and bows. Well after 2 pregnancies and having one of each I think boys are easier do deal with. Girls are drama queens and cry about EVERYTHING. Boys are rough and tough and just take things as they come. I am pregnant again for the third time and I am praying deep down that this is a boy! Good Luck and I hope you get what you are wishing for.
