China, i'd say everything about china has changed me, my experience, the culture, the people, the climate i wish i had enough space to relate my experience in china and how in one month it had made me into a new person. it made me understand a lot of things and learn that i had known very little of life yet, it humbled me, i got lost in beijing and few people could speak english i had known fear that almost paralyzed my reason. i guess that was one lesson i had learned a lot from.

My first travel to the USA changed my life. I went there to nurse a broken heart after my separation and meeting my old friends and relatives living there was wonderful. They boosted my morale, we had fun, and I had a soul-searching solitude. It opened my eyes to reality, and I realized it's a beautiful world worth living.

One place that changed my life was Holland (or the Netherlands, if you prefer). I lived there for a year and a half when I was 7-8, and I personally think it had a huge influence on my life. My family traveled a lot while there, and I was definitely bitten by the traveling bug! I also began noticing birds for the first time, thanks to subsequent trips back to Europe. And now I want to spend my life studying them...so I'd say there was quite an influence going on there! ^__^

I went to Korea to work in a Biotech research lab for a summer several years ago. It was truly a life changing experience. Everything about Korea (the people, the food, the language, the culture, and on and on) was completely different that what I am used to in the US. I came to appreciate that when we open up to different views from a different society (instead of believing in our own superiority), we can truly learn A LOT about ourselves and others.
